Would stay again in a NY minute
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/09
My husband and I just wanted to get away...we checked in an hour before check-in time; front desk couldn't have been any nicer! Maid staff saw us on the way out of dropping our bags into the room and asked if we found everything to our satisfaction (we did). The room was comfortable and clean!! No matter what their job was at the hotel, each and every staff member was friendly and welcoming. The cost for the room was also reasonable for a city destination. Our only dislikes are as follows, however they wouldn't stop us from returning to this hotel...the size of the bathroom, small and $18.00 per day to park a little hard to swallow, but I guess this is common when staying in a city. Also I didn't see the Starbucks coffee station (may be my fault; didn't know enough to look) and the dunkin donuts just down a block isn't open on Sunday. All in all my husband and I will stay there again. It is within walking distance to the park and many shops, the streets are clean and roomy for strolling along. The Bushnell theatre is very nice (saw A Chorus Line there) and the Hartford Stage Company is literally down the block. You can also be on the highway in a matter of minutes if you wish to venture around.

Unwanted Guest

I truly dislike this place even though it has 85% of great view (if the FOX building was removed) of Hartford. There are great places to dine. BUT!!!!!Look out for people hanging out in front of the lobby and more people "chillin" around the premises. My other issues are that, I had a "do not disturb" sign on the outside door knob and the door locked for extra privacy if you know what I mean. The next morning I looked up and saw an image run out the room. In the same location were I saw the person, was our bill. Usaully someone just slips the bill under the door. I was so freaked out. Finally, I got dressed and was ready to check out. I went the check out person and she basically called me a lied and tried to charge me for a parking. Mind you I don't drive. So ladies just be careful and always look twice at your bill.

Not too good
By hawk, 10/16/07
I'm a diamond member of this loyalty program yet I was not able to secure a king bed with a reservation almost 2 months in advance. Yes that is correct---I booked a king bed 2 months in advance AND I am the top tier of their loyalty program yet I was given a 'take it ot leave it' room. This place still charges $9.99 for a daily internet connection. Heck the Motel 6 has better options. Concierge---useless. Dirty---stains on the rug and walls. I suppose the best part about this place is the food and the location. I suggest the Hampton in Rocky Hill next time in Hartford.

A Four Diamond Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/13/06
The Hilton Hartford Hotel is an amazing lodging experience. The moment I arrived to the hotel entrance. The door man immediately welcomed me to the hotel. I felt as though the hotel was only expecting me the entire day. I want to thank the hotel staff for accomodating my needs. If I were to hire a personal assistant, I would go to the hilton hartford hotel and steal one of there employees. Thank you for making my stay a four diamond stay.

Great for business travelers.
By Francie, 12/10/05
I often travel to Hartford on business and have stayed at several different hotels. The Hilton has just about everything the business traveler needs - great location, comfortable rooms, high-speed internet access, and a nice lobby suitable for waiting on that late-again colleague. My only complaint is that they charge for the high-speed internet access. With so many hotels giving this to guests free-of-charge, the Hilton needs to follow suit. I was not impressed with the restaurant, which was rather high-priced although the food was just so-so. Try No Fish Today, Hot Tomatoes, or Black-eyed Sally's instead.

Comfy rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/09/05
I have stayed at this hotel several times both for business and pleasure and have enjoyed all of my visits. However, the restaurant downtairs - if you like sodium, head on over. But, if you can't have a pound of salt in one meal, you might want to try the Trumbull Kitchen down the street. But, the rooms are beautifully arranged. It's a nice sweet haven when on the road or just for relaxing when in the area.

I liked the great atmosphere, the service, overall, everything about it! All the convinients services at the room, the room service, the food, the view, the beautiful entrance view and the quality of the service in general.
