Matterhorn Motel, Ouray

The price was fine, the room clean enough and the location ideal. The bed was comfortable (once you deal with an ill fitting sheet) and the parking was close to our room. There is room outside to relax with friends as well. On the other hand, the bottom sheet didn't fit the mattress and despite what the sign said, the help went home way early and closed the office at 6pm (on a Friday night). So no new sheet, and no extra pillows. They had only about 10 cable channels and the parking lot leaves me to believe that a person could become completely blocked in (I worried about this). The kicker was that late arrivals had to fish through a mail box to find an envelope with their name on it. Inside the envelope, were the keys to your room! Convenient if not secure.

New owners just took over one week ago. Extremely helpful with local information. Great location near the center of town, just off Main Street. Neat and clean. Will definitely be back.

No respect for the guests. Spent a horrible night in this place. The worst!

The new owner destroys any desire to stay at this place now. He towed a patrons car and made sure those of us staying there knew it. He is obsessive over how long people stay in the hot tub. He makes comments to the people in the hot tub about how long they stay in the hot tub. The pool and hot tub open at 9:00 a.m. and that is when he checks the chemicals and adds chemicals--he then turned around and said to us "Oh I hope you weren't waiting to get in the hot tub because it is going to be a long time." He is rude to the customers and if you have a complaint his response is "Don't come back!"

Excellent for the price! It's quiet, clean and the staff is great. Perfect walking distance to anywhere and the views from the hotel are beautiful. I will stay here again!
