BEDBUGS!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/09
I was here for a conference in Aug 2009, and after 5 nights I was covered in red, itchy, sore welts. This was diagnosed by my doctor back in Ohio as BEDBUG BITES! These have become infected, now on a bunch of meds to clear up the welts. I do not recommend this hotel!!

Gross in the off season
By , 01/11/09
All I can say, is thank goodness the price was greatly reduced for the off season. 1. The pool was 72 degrees - the heater had been broken for 3 days - although I called the day before and was told all was good to go. The pool and hot tub being the reason we were staying here. 2. The hot tub was 107 degrees - scorching for 2 little kids. 3. Both were filthy as heck, hairballs, black stains around the edges (like a bathtub ring), slimy floors. 4. The elevator smelled like 10 years of stale smoke. 5. The hairdryer in our room was broken. 6. The free coffee and cups in our room still had coffee from the last user - yes, even the cup had coffee still in it that my 2 year old found. 7. The food was marginal, thankfully the winter special had the kids eat free and 2 for 1 for the adult meals. 8. The pillows were lumpy, the beds hard, the carpets in the room dingy, the tile in the bathroom stained, the grout was stained and cracked. 9. Breakfast was actually great - the buffet was well priced - kids free again, the made to order omlets/eggs and waffles were wonderful as well as the variety of fresh fruit on the line given it is January. 10. A never ending supply of hot water in the room so the kids did have great baths even if the pool didn't work out like we wanted.

Negative experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/08
Obviously few people write reviews because I spoke with multiple customers who were not happy about their stay. The elevator didn't work and had been out of service for some time according to 1 customer. Another complained about the condition of the pool, etc We were assigned rooms on the 4th floor(no elevator) and told that we could be accommodated on the 1st floor, which turned out to be a basement in the back building. The back building was dark and smelled bad--lots of dogs and little light and I don't know what else. When we indicated that we were leaving, the mgmt finally "found" us a room in the main building on the 2nd floor (only 1 flight of stairs to carry our luggage), and the room was adequate. Of course, some other unlucky customer was probably sent to the basement. The breakfast buffet was good, and the location was convenient, but so were the locations of the other hotel/motels in Estes Park. We didn'ty expect as many animals as were there, but we are dog lovers and in our area they were all well behaved. We certainly would not stay here again unless it were an emergency.

Convenient location and good value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/09/07
If you are looking for a family friendly resort hotel and good value for your travel dollars, the Holiday Inn Rocky Mountain Park offers comfort and excellent service. Management makes all the difference and the staff has been well schooled in courtesy and kindness. The food is not the usual Holiday Inn menu and we had some great meals on the fine dining side as well as excellent appetizers and drinks in the bar. Whereas we felt fleeced and rushed after dining at Mary's Lake Lodge, we enjoyed superb cuisine and attentive servers at the Rocky Mtn. Park Holiday Inn. Another plus was the Internet service in the handsome Lodge lobby. While one of us surfed the web and sent email, the other settled in with a book by the fire. Great decor and value -- this is a gem in the Rocky Mountains.

What a difference a year makes!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/07
We were here last summer (aug 2006), and the hotel was under different management (OK, bad management). Well, it's May, and there's new management! The staff was super-friendly, and the Friday Buffet was wonderful! I am glad we tried this place again. The kids love the pool, and we like connecting rooms that close. Let's hear it for the New Management!!!!

A great hotel
By , 03/12/07
We picked this hotel because of the pool and it was really cold, so we didn't spend as much time in it as we wanted to. Otherwise, everything about our stay was great! I would stay here again!

Stop* Look* and Listen*
By ginny, 09/27/05
We stopped* at the Holiday Inn for the evening. It had become chilly at night, so we were glad to be some place warm and comfortable. The next morning, looking* out the window was this panoramic view of the valley at sunrise and scattered among the trees were elk. (And not just one or two, there were many!!) Grazing in the grasses,as if it were their land (and it is, of couse shared with the towns people). We shopped the afternoon away. It was time for a cool one at local watering hole, The Wheel. After visiting with the locals in the area, they said to listen* when you step outside at dusk. (We were to listen for elk running up the streets) Boy, it that doesn't give you the whillies. We sure walked to our car in a hurry. We'll we stopped**looked**and listened** and yes I would go back to stay at the Holiday Inn. What a great vacation!!

Staff were all exceptionally nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/05/05
My family and I stayed at the Holiday Inn convention center and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and accomadating, the morning buffet was always very tasty and because of 2 adult vouchers for each day and the "Kids Eat Free" (which for the menu is free but for the buffet it isn't free...it's actually 80 cents per child) it was still VERY economical for us to dine in the hotel each morning. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly each day and notes requesting extra coffee or blankets and such were always filled. We will certainly stay there again whenever we make a trip to Estes Park to vacation.
