Ace Hotel & Swim Club, Palm Springs

Motels on interstate Hwy are lot better in service and customer relations.70% of the rooms are out of service. They were searching for a room all over the hotel to check me in. I will not stay at this hotel again.

We first get there to check in and there is a long line with many angry guests who supposedly made reservations and they did not have them. Thank goodness they had ours. At first impression it seems like an average motel/inn. I noticed people even lived on the property. The weekends are the worst. People crowd on the Denny's parking lot which shares the same lot as this resort and there is so much noise. People are blocking the parking lot and will not move the cars for anyone to get through. We complained about 3 times to security at the front desk before anything was done.

Me and my girlfriend reserved a room at this motel, just based on what we had looked at and read on the internet. Boy were we misled. Right when we arrived, we looked at several of the rooms, and they appeared to have been gutted from an obvious spills, or something toxic being left in them. The place is dirty, and does not appear as it does on the internet. If there was a renovation, the owners need to get there money back, because it wasnt put into this motel. I dont like to badmouth places, especially when the rate is so affordable, but this place was a dump. inside and out. It was so bad that we went to the front desk and began talking to the desk clerk, she could see it plain as day that this motel was obviously not for us. Luckily, she was nice enough to not charge us, and we went up the street to another, clean motel....

I went under the impression that they had done remodeling here...boy was that the worst decision. I'm not picky at all and just like a clean place to stay. The first room we were in the a/c didn't work well. The carpet was filthy and I had to call someone to close the window. Outside the room there were large red ants marching around. Regarding the a/c the front desk said that the system went down and to give it a couple of hours to cool down again.
We decided to give it a try and went to get something to eat. We came back and the room was as hot as ever. I called the front desk again and she said she would switch our room and implied that no one else had complained. All the rest of the people who were staying there seemed to be working there. Maybe that's why they weren't complaining. If you ask for towels, I swear that a lady came out of another hotel room and brought me some towels. She wasn't in a uniform but some cut off jeans and a t-shirt.
Well...they switched our room but since it was dark, I felt cool a/c and thought it was ok. When we had moved all our things and I finally turned the light out the carpet was filthy with large black marks. The bathroom had writing on the wall with someone loves someone. There was no remote control so we got the one from the other room. About 30 minutes later the front desk called to let us know they were looking for a remote because they new that our "new" room didn't have one. I told her we took the one from the other room. I told her about the writing on the wall and she asked if we wanted to switch again. It was late so I told her that we would just check out early.
The reason why I stayed there was because I was looking at a AAA site that gave it 3 stars. I figured it would've been clean. I also forgot my camera in the first room and when I called they said the maid wasn't working so I would have to call back because they had already rented that room out. I can say that by far it was the worst hotel that I've ever been in.
