Vagabond Inn San Pedro, San Pedro

Long story short....I called and explained I needed to stay on a Friday night and was told it would be 75.00..I explained that I was quoted from a link that sent me to their hotel $ 59.00....the front desk person then put me on hold and came back and quoted me $ 63.71 and asked if they could call me back after check ins. Called me back and changed price to 109...he said I told him it was for Thursday not Friday....impossible since my flight out of my state isn't till Friday and on top of that calling me a Liar...asked to speak with Manager...Big mistake...he went on to say that people aren't perfect....wow what business school did he attend....let me take a guess..Not!..More like tried to read Business for Dummies...but never made it to the chapter: Customers are always right... he told me I was rude when I complained about being told one thing and now being told another another.....long story short....these people are LIARS!!! What else do they lie about....not washing their hands before making their "complimentary breakfast! Yuck....do yourself a favor...call the other near by hotels...I did :)

I liked the manager, direct and honest and even charming (at times). very practical location - to harbor, beaches, fish restaurants and museum. The noisy street and general location add to realistic experience of this harbor town.I always stay here when in San Pedro.

Hated it...packed up and left. Dirty, unfriendly, scarey.

Unfriendly owner. Office closes at 6:00 p.m. and if you want coffee before it opens in the morning you have to walk a block to 7-11 (not recommended in that area) because there are no coffee pots in th room, or refrigerators or microwaves. The beds are hard as rocks, the bathtub didn't work. If you want a hairdryer or iron/ironing board they are available at the front desk for a deposit. Very noisy apartments facing back rooms, traffic facing front rooms. Parking is a joke. Restaurant is a Sushi restaurant so forget about breakfast and it is not opened 24 hours. Continental breakfast in the lobby consisted of stale doughnuts. Pool is not sparkling by any stretch. Pay a little more and go to the Holiday Inn next door.

My girlfriend and myself stayed here for about a week and it was great! By far the best hotel for the money. The staff in the lobby were very helpful, they answered any questions we had, provided maps and were very pleasant. Our room was very clean and the air conditioning got nice and cold, making for a nice return from the beach. The hotel is located close to anywhere you might want to visit in LA. As long as you have a car, that is. The town of San Pedro is beautiful. If your looking for a nice luxurious hotel, with a staff that is going to constantly kiss your butt, this is not the place for you. However, if your looking for a very affordable, clean, friendly, quaint place to rest your head, this is for you.

Never again will I stay hear... I have a 45 foot bus. The parking lot is barely large enough for a passenger car and certainly not large enough to accomodate a large vehicle or car/trailer combination. Given the circumstances that aren't relevant to this writing I had to park my bus a couple of miles away out of walking distance to the hotel. I couldn't park on the side street because the local law prohibits larger vehicles (over 20 feet long), from parking on the street, subject to a $50.00 fine. The manager wan not pleasant. The quality of the rooms and facility as a whole was comprable to a $50.00 hotel.
