Beachway Inn and Suites, Santa Cruz

I liked that it was walking distance from the beach. The management was good and friendly. They provided us with towels when ever we needed them. It was worth the time and money My family and I had a good time. We will go again and stay there. Dorothea

This hotel was horrible! It was so dirty & gross.... When we in inquired about the room the man at the counter sad a room was $88 & for $10 more we could have a sweet. Ha, a sweet my butt! It was just two SMALL rooms, one of which had no TV. The floor was so gross, our kids feet were black in 10 minutes of having there shoes off. The walls were equally gross. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

A warning to anyone staying. Manager was very rude (especially to women) rooms smells like MOLD & Mildew (in fact there was mold in the bathroom sink). Big RAT crawling out side the check in place. A spider was found in between the hand towels. Manger has a sign posted "NO Pets" when in fact he has a family living at the other end of the motel (with a Dog) How contradiciting is he. Manager tried to get me to sign my reciept,stating that he had to charge me for 2 additional people, when in fact my reservation was for 4. Filed a complaint to Corporate office (there a joke also) they sited with manager, I told (Corporate) they should look at web-site regarding all of the complaints. I agree they should shut them down. He tell nothing but lies.He stated to us that his motel was not for "Parting" but in fact has people staying there that were smoking "weed" outside the steps. LOW LIFE MOTEL. My rating for this motel is a -0 (no Stars)

First of all, their service just over the phone was so terrible that I decided not to even bother staying there. I called very politely to ask if they have an age restriction for reserving a room, since most of the time hotels say you must be 21 years of age, and I am a 20 year old college student. The guy who answered said to hold on while he went to talk to someone. I hear them start laughing and then the guy finally comes back but never says a word to me. I can only hear him moving around, and he starts taking other calls, while he leaves me on the phone for about 10 to 15 minutes! I finally say "Hello??" and he hangs up! Extremely rude. I will never recommend this place to anyone, nor will I ever stay there.

First, just go ahead and spend the extra $20/night and go to the other side of the San Lorenzo River. After being quoted $280 (with taxes) for a week over the phone, we were pretty irritated that we were charged $40 more instead once we got there. Bad start. We were then told that the swimming pool and hot tub were "out of order" - the continental breakfast is only served when they are busy, and even then it's just a sliced loaf of bread and coffee - they only clean their rooms once a week (even though they woke us up every morning with their obnoxious carts) - and that they refuse loud people and Cali students. Don't let them lie to you, we were kept up all night more than once due to the parties and stomping from neighbors. If you don't mind the loudness and possible prostitution and drug deals, this place is alright. I definitely don't recommend any families stay here, or business people needing their rest. Make sure to enjoy Santa Cruz while you're there!! You'll love home after it.

Here's where by beef is with the management comes in, I spoke with a female who answered the phone & agreed to a price for (2) nights, she then transfered me to a gentleman colleague to take my information, again he confirmed the amount. When I arrived later that same day, they over billed me, added a charge for a deposit on a room safe, we never requested or used & then both claimed they didn't recall our conversations from earlier that same day. Their continentel breakfast consisted of muffins from costco cut into thirds. I asked for directions to a store and they didn't have a clue. I have to agree with other posters regarding their feet being black. I took my sandals off to go take a shower & couldn't believe how black they got just going from the room to the shower. The bathroom blinds were filthy & the room had no air conditioning! The beds were hard & they were covered only with a flat sheet, between the mattress and blanket.

smells stinks as soon as you get in the room. front desk person was not helpful at all. I should have rent a room in other places and not this one. Oh yeah! one thing I noticed that definitely NO AIR CONDITIONS in the room as it was on advertisement online. WAKE UP! Do something about your outdated advertisement. I should've taken my money back for fooling us that ther is an AIR CONDITION.

After looking all up and down riverside my boyfriend and I decided to stay here because it was the most cost effective and looked decent. The room was fairly large but not too clean. The bathroom was a little drity and the pillows were kind of thin. Other than that i think its good for the price. Its right next to the beach, and the people were nice to us. :)

This was not the room I was expecting. I would say the website misrepresented the photos. The room was very large but not very clean. The beds are hard as a rock. I had a hard time sleeping. The rooms are badly in need of upgrading. There was no continental breakfast. When I asked where I could find food they were not very helpful. Its a pretty good walk to the boardwalk. Its hard to find food around here I couldnt even find the store and was very frustrated with my stay. Lots of 1 way streets.

THIS PLACE WAS DIRTY AND VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. THERE ARE NOT WORDS TO EXPLAIN THIS PLACE OTHER THAN IT NEEDS TO BE TORN DOWN AND REBUILT, THAT IS HOW GROSS IT WAS. I WOULD NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.
