Spirit of the community
By ,
We bid on an auction to benefit Angel Island Association, and one of the items was a 2 day stay at the Tiburon Lodge. The Lodge had generously donated the room. The management and staff reflect the gracious hospitality and the warm ambience of this hotel. They accommodated all our needs - free parking, free internet and a fabulous dinner! The room was spacious and the Jacuzzi in the room was larger than most bedrooms! Quiet and conveniently located in Tiburon, I would highly recommend this lovely hotel to my friends and collegues.Thank you for a great stay and your donation to a good cause!

Warm & inviting
We visited San Francisco in June of 07. It was a cool week weather-wise, but the Inn at Tiburon made us feel so warm and comfortable. With all the sightseeing, it was like coming home every night. Tiburon reminds you of a little New England village, and it allows you to relax away from all the hustle & bustle of the city. The beds were comfy too.

Don't expect too much!
By ,
What a value - under $200. - But, the first night the fire alarm went off for no reason for about 10 minutes. We had a spa in our room - but the floor was VERY slippery - I slipped and fell on a stair - (I am still recovering) The area is VERY affluent and the people around town are a bit pretentious. Nearby Mill Valley was nice. The view is GREAT! I don't think we would go back though...too much of a hassle to get to the city and other things. - It is a great place for a couple.

Tiburon's Best Kept Secret!
By ,
Just returned from spending four glorious days at The Lodge at Tiburon. Our room was on the third floor, with high valuted ceilings, a warm, soft decor, overlooking the pool. Our feathered top bed was like sleeping on a cloud, with plenty of pillows, and a down comforter for those chilly nights! We also had a refrigerator, TV,and DVD player enclosed in a handsome cabinet. The room, although rather small compared to others we have stayed in, more than suited our needs. The bed and bath linens were luxurious, as were the terry robes hanging in the closet. The staff was courteous and most helpful. Restaurants and the ferry to Fisherman's Wharf are all within a short walking distance. We found the residents of this small town to be most cordial. We fell in love with this hotel, the staff, the area, and hope to return again.

Very Poorly Constructed, Overpriced
By ,
I've stayed at this hotel twice in the last 5 months (August 2006 and November 2006) and it disappointed both times. I hesitate to bash it too much since I stayed at a deep discount both times, thanks to the generosity of two wedding parties, but other travelers should be warned about this place. It is cheaply made and you will not get a good night's sleep here. This place is a cheap roadside motel that charges 5 star prices. On our August trip, our room was unfinished. There was a glass pane where the bathroom door should have been, and the bathroom was set up such that you had to hide in one part of the room to avoid watching other guests using the toilet. They fixed that problem by taping paper over the glass--the easier fix would have been to offer us another room. In November, we stayed in a room with walls so thin that we were kept awake by a snoring neighbor both nights. The second night, we were also awakened at 5am by our upstairs neighbor walking around while packing up for an early flight out. Apparently, the ceiling-floor barriers were as thin as the walls. This is a pretty signifcant problem for a place that charges this much, not to mention a place built in an earthquake-prone region such as the bay area. In addition, I requested that the staff ship home a gift that I couldn't fit into my luggage. Despite my asking for a standard/cheap shipping rate, the staff had DHL ship four glasses overnight from Tiburon to Virginia. I ended up paying probably three times as much as I would had they followed my instructions. Overall, if you are staying in Tiburon, try the Water's Edge--it seems to have comparable prices.

tiburon is a very relaxing place to go with your love one. the town is nice and quiet. it was nice to be away from the big loud city. i got the sense that tiburon is really family oriented but a bit old fashion when it comes to different races visiting. above all i give it a 10. great

Spa? Whatever, it's a motel!
By ,
As a warning, for around 400$ the "spa rooms" are tiny and, although it's cool to have a hot tub in your room, the cramped feeling made it feel anything but spacious and spa like. Further, though they advertise spa services and treatment rooms they do not have those services on site, they direct you to a hair salon down the street to book your own appointment. They also advertise Sunday morning brunch at the hotel restaurant, but do not actually have Sunday brunch, only lunch starting at 11:00. Because of the "newly renovated" rooms, ours smelled like oil based wall paint and gave me a headache trying to sleep. The pool looks nice in the pictures, but right outside the shot you can see the large green fence surrounding the whole thing, making it look much more like a motel than a spa. And . . . since the pool and hot tub were filled with children the entire time we were there, I warn against expecting this to add to the romance or "spa experience"(though it may be a good sign for families travelling with kids).
