Old Grace With Modern Benefits
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/2/05
This review from me is overdue. 100 years of classic landmark history hasn't dimmed by the addition of the new wing and spectacular outside elevator. The austere, sophistocated look of the architecture, which has withstood natures onslaught of earthquakes, is enhanced by luxurious beds; courteous service, peppered with sincere accommodation; and unparalleled location (great planning for 100 years ago). The cable car is so close, one almost trips over it just walking out the front door. The finest
available shopping is just a "walk in the park", through Union Square. I truly appreciate the old grace of the St. Francis,
mixed with modern amanities and accessability. Walt Grzymski
