Great Hotel, Great Staff and a Great Weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/17/11
After reading some reviews about the hotel i was a little concerned on the cleanliness of the rooms but the price was just right so i took my chances and I'm happy to say that we had a pleasant stay here. The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was just perfect, very clean and was located right in front of the pool area where we were able to relax and catch some sun while the kids swam around in their heated pool. Breakfast was pleasantly good and the kids loved their waffles. Overall it was a wonderful weekend and we will definitely be returning. The hotel is in a great location if you want some R and R. It was away from downtown so it was very quiet and peaceful. It was surrounded by mountains so matter where u were the view was amazing.

Internet wretched, hotel okay
By Chris, 3/26/11
A decent internet connection has become more important than a coffee maker, bow dryer, iron, or microwave in the room. This hotel's internet connection is truly bad, resetting every few seconds unless I am willing to spent my time in the hotel lobby.

Never return!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/8/10
We made reservations, and drove to Palm Springs for a wedding shower. We live 2 hours away. We checked in at 8:30pm on a Friday. When I returned from getting dinner there was a GIANT Roach on the ceiling, no big deal my husband killed it and threw it away, then we found 2 more small roaches and killed those and still decided to stay, but once the 3rd baby roach crawled out of my husband shirts, that was the final straw. We went to the front desk and checked out, and had to look for another place at 11:30pm with out 3 year old son. Now $422 later, the Vagabond does not want to refund our money. Rather then having good customer service and returning the money that does not belong to them . they are being stuborn and inconciderate of our situation. They got their money and thats all there is to it. I've called the corporate office, and they dont want to do anything about it. I would not stay at this Roach invested hotel.

Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/10
I was a bit cautious about staying at a very inexpensive hotel, but the value we experienced during our stay was unbelievable. We liked the room and the pool area to relax, except that the pool was very warm (at least 90 degrees), so escaping the heat was hard. The food at the hotel was limited, but what was offered was very good, especially the complimentary breakfast; the expectation was a continental-type breakfast, but it was far more. A waffle breakfast was a great surprise. There was little we did not like; probably the most striking was the air-conditioning, which was underpowered for the room we were in. I understand it is an inexpensive hotel, but a good air-conditioner in Palm Springs is almost a requirement regardless of the hotel. We thought about a fan; it would have helped, but we chose not to obtain one. I would choose differently if given the chance again. We would definitely go again for a mini-getaway - for the value offered...just do it.

Our little get AWAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/17/09
My family and i have been there a couple of times and we are looking forward to making it a yearly trip. We have the availability to taking the children and feel safe and secure, i can watch them from my window if i choose to stay in bed, opposed to having a big hotel where i have to be with the kids at all times. I recommend this hotel for the relaxation, breakfast and privacy

Great relaxing mini trip~~
By Claudia, 5/26/08
My cousin and I have been staying at the Vagabond for YEARSSSSSSS and we love it. And yes we go in July. We love it because we practically have the hotel to ourselves. We love the friendly staff and if we do need anything, we always ask and it's received. We used to go every year for a while but had stopped for a while and now are back up to our yearly ritual. This summer is going to be our third trip and we would rather stay here and be inexpensive and be more relaxed and not have to worry about the pool being crowded. Also, it's near the strip and the opposite way is the market and other big stores. We LOVE it. Thanks Vagabond, see you in July!

Best Value in Town!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/4/07
For the value, this is a great little secret. Parking, breakfast, newspaper, computer access in lobby. So what if they smoke in the lobby- happens in Europe everyday. Excellent value and close to shopping, restaurants, stores, gasoline and a relatively quiet place. Great pool and well maintained. Thank you.

You get for you Pay For
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/07
I did not like the fact that Concierge, an older lady, smoked right at the Lobby. I had to run several times outside to get fresh air while checking out. Otherwise it is a good value, not far away from downtown. You can take a taxi for 5-7 dollars to get to downtown.

GING BACK GLADLY
By randym, 10/19/07
This was just what I needed. Quiet, roomy, spacious, confortable bed. Only draw back was the refigerator started rattling on my last night. Had to pul the plug. Elderly lady at front desk early in the morning is a sweetheart & best person to deal with. Continental buffet well worth it for the $$$.

best value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/27/07
Great. Came to PS as a single to golf. Because the Vagabond was booked thru Travelocity, I was bumped up to a king room. Fridge, microvave, hair dryer, iron, TV--no high spd. computer hookup but you can pick up wireless from Travelodge next door. Pool and hot tub large and well kept. And the breakfast is NOT your typical bagel + coffee, but full--all kinds of dry cereal, fruit & juices, make-it-yourself waffles etc. Location is handy to golf courses, but you'll have trouble finding the hotel at first. Big grocery store etc. abt half a mile away. A great value at a much higher price: go for it. (They take pets)
