Not where you want to be

It would be irresponsible of me not to warn other travelers of this hotel. It is a very dilapidated, run-down place. Perhaps it was once a nice place to stay, but the present day Stillwell is a place where few travelers will really want to be.
There are disheveled looking people 'crashing' on an assortment of old couches in the lobby. A foul stench permeates the elevators, and the room I got was clearly in disuse. The bath fixtures were rusted, a layer of dust coated everything, and the air in the room was stale from inadequate ventilation.
The hotel was moderately busy, but almost all of the customers there actually live at the hotel on a permanent basis in a type of 'half-way house' setting. These people came down from their rooms and ordered drinks at the Stillwell's bar, Hank's Place. Many of them aggressively asked the bartender for drinks at a discount, and took their beers back up the elevator, I assume back to their rooms. Others remained in the bar and acted aggressive and unstable, which made me very nervous for my safety. The bartender did nothing to stop any of the brewing trouble.
In all honesty this is no place for tourists, families, or traveling students. Clearly the building's primary purpose has moved from tourism to providing low-cost housing to down-and-out locals. That is fine, but tourists need to be aware of that going in, and only the most adventurous, fearless, and desperately budget-minded traveler should even consider staying the night here.
