Santa Anita Inn, Arcadia

I JUST HAD MY DAUGHTERS QUINCEANERA ON MAY 5, 2012 AND EVERYTHING CAME OUT BEAUTIFUL. THE STAFF WERE VERY ATTENTIVE AND POLITE. EVERYONE COMPLIMENTED ON HOW GOOD THE FOOD WAS AND HOW BEAUTIFUL THE FACILITY WAS DECORATED. I HAD READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEW THAT PEOPLE HAVE POSTED AND I WAS NERVOUS ABOUT MY DAUGHTERS SPECIAL EVENT, BUT I'M GLAD I TOOK THE CHANCE BECAUSE EVERYTHING CAME OUT PERFECT. IF I HAD TO DO IT AGAIN I WILL DEFINETLY GO BACK. I TRULY RECOMMENDED THIS FACILITY TO EVERYONE. AUDREY THANK YOU FOR BEING HELPFUL AND HAVING EXCELLENT STAFF WORKING UNDER YOU. I could hardly sleep as the a/c was just rattling like crazy.One night I had to turn on the heat and it also made lots of noise. The bathroom really needed some upkeep. Bed was fine. I did like the free breakfast and to be able to use the hot tub and pool. Grounds are nice.

My husband and I spent 2 nights. We arrived on Friday and was able to check in at 11:00. We selected this hotel because it was across the street from the Racetrack. The room was great. We had a king bed with sliding glass door at to the patio. The grounds were beautiful. Nice hot tub. Pool was not headted, but that weekend it was 92. Staff was very friendly. The only improvement would be the contiental breakfast. Needs more of a varitey. We had a great time

I went to the Sana Anita Inn's official website and looked at the rooms and rates and saw that they had a room with a Queen size bed for $65.00 + tax and called the hotel direct to book the room. When my girlfriend and I checked into the hotel we received the key to our room and when we opened the door to our shoebox of a room we thought they had given us the wrong room because the bed was a full size bed. We went back to the office and I spoke to the girl at the front desk and told her that she had given us the wrong room because our room should have had a queen size bed and she indicated that our room did in fact have a queen size bed. I then asked for the manager whom told me that his hotel does not have any full size beds. He claimed that they only have Queen size and King size beds. I then went back to the room and pulled the sheets to find out that it was in fact a Full size bed. I have owned a Queen size mattress in the past and am certainly able to tell that this was not a Queen size mattress. My girlfriend and I went back to the front desk and demanded a refund and told the manager that we were checking out because he is a liar. He never once offered to move us into a different room. He is the most poor excuse of a hotel manager. I have traveled alot in my life and have stayed at many hotels, but never have been through anything like this in my life. When a hotel advertises a Queen size mattress they better give you a Queen size mattress and not a full size mattress. Stay clear of this hotel!!!

My short hour at the Santa Anita Inn was one of the worst and most surreal hotel experiences of my life. My husband and I are experienced travelers. We have traveled all over the world and have stayed at hotels that range the whole spectrum in price and quality, so I speak from experience. After a LONG day of traveling to California with our 9 year old son and our 10 month old daughter we just wanted to relax and take a shower. We walked in and looked around and saw the outlets where all cracked and broken (not real safe with a baby crawling around) and had ancient 3 outlet extensions plugs plugged into some. The linens were filthy stained and threadbare, the drapes had year’s worth of dust on them, the fridge was filled with rotten food, and the carpet was dirty and worn. THEN WE WALKED INTO THE BATHROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RAW SEWAGE had backed up into the toilet and bathtub and had overflowed onto the floor. When we called the front desk the guy manning it was rude and condescending. He got snotty with me because I didn’t tell the guy who set up the crib that he needed to fix the tub and toilet. He acted like I was completely unreasonable and out of my mind for being upset about the bathroom!!! I have never met such a rude and disrespectful hotel worker before. We fled the hotel and later the next morning had to fight with them not to be charged for the whole week that our reservation was for. I read all of the other reviews and was completely baffled by the good ones. It doesn’t even seem possible that we were at the same hotel! We ended up going to the Marriot on 2nd and it was beautiful, CLEAN, the staff was friendly, and the price was pretty much the same. It was also in a much better area of town. This was by far the worst most unsafe and disgusting hotel that I have ever stayed at. Don’t take the chance and find a better place to stay!

This was the WORST experience I have ever had at a hotel. Not only did they book the room we had reserved WITH A CREDIT CARD, but they RUINED my sister's wedding. I cannot even give all the details, but I can tell you that there are about 150 people who will never set foot on the grounds of the Santa Anita Inn ever again. And if you are thinking of having your wedding reception there THINK AGAIN, PLEASE!!!!!!! Cancel NOW--you won't be sorry you did!

My daughter had her wedding reception at the Santa Anita Inn this past weekend. She and her fiance had planned for 1 1/2 years and did everything they could to make sure their wedding day would be perfect. Unfortunately, the Inn didn't see things the same way. The food was such poor quality, with large ribbons of fat all through the tiny pieces of meat, the green beans uncooked and the food so skimpy that people had to go get something to eat before the evening ended. The vegetarian plate consisted of two green beans, two tiny carrots, and two grape tomatoes. The cake was sliced into paper thin pieces, and they even served the "anniversary cake", (the top layer) because the middle layer of the cake, according to the cooks, was filled with rotten strawberries and couldn't be served. We had ordered it filled with raspberries! The food was all wrong: they ordered beef burgundy but received a slab of plain meat, no sauce. The side dish was a tiny blob of mashed potatoes. All in all, the food was HIDEOUS! But if the service had been even acceptable, we might have been able to "overlook" the poor food. The woman who was in charge of the affair had an ugly, hateful look on her face the whole evening. She was such a POOR representative of the caterers, several guests commented on her demeaner. I could go on and on for days about how dissatisfied we were with the catering here, but suffice it to say "YOU'LL BE SORRY IF YOU GO TO SANTA ANITA INN!!

This place was terrible. First, they lost my reservation (even though I confirmed it with a credit card) and then they made me pay for the increase on a suite because it was the only room they had left. Second, the room was old and needed repairs. Third, my sister in law had her wedding reception on the site and they COMPLETELY screwed it up. The caterer (who is a sub contracter of the inn and the only one you can use) was rude, served poor quality food, and treated the guests like crap. IN SHORT, I HATE THE SANTA ANITA INN. DO NOT STAY HERE!!
