Hilton San Francisco Fishermans Wharf, San Francisco

Only about 2 blocks from Fisherman's Wharf--the location is fantastic. Hotel and rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Bar is nice, but very limited food service available in hotel. Many options nearby, though. Would definitely stay here again.

We had reservations and unbeknownst to us, the morning we were to check in Hilton decided to run the credit card that we used to reserve the room. We booked months ago with a credit card we had to cancel due to fraudulent use and by that time had another credit card. We didn't think to give Hilton the new credit card information as most hotels do not run your credit card until you check-in. Then the hotel immediately will put a block on the expected cost of your stay. Well they ran the old credit card number which naturally came through as expired. Hilton cancelled our reservation without having the courtesy to contact us. We arrived in San Francisco at 10pm on a Tuesday night only to find out we don't have reservations! Because there were 2 conventions in town, all the rooms were sold out. We ended up in Oakland. The Hilton Fisherman's Wharf staff would not help us find another room and the front staff was sassy to us. As we stood in their lobby, 2 other parties attempted to check-in and were redirected to Embassy Suites because Fisherman's Wharf did not have available rooms due to Hilton overbooking their rooms. I was incensed and sent an email to the Front Office Manager while sitting in Oakland with nothing to do. We arrived back in San Francisco on Thursday to finally check-in with the Hilton Fisherman's Wharf. The Front Office Manager was very apologetic, upgraded us to a suite and had a nice welcoming basket in the room. However, she did state if was their policy to do what they did. I suggested to her that they revisit their policy as to not leave travelers stranded as we were. I also stated nowhere on their website does it indicate this policy. We were to be in San Francisco for 4 days...ended up there only 2 days. The upgrade was nice yet we lost 2 days sitting in Oakland. We had to reschedule all our reservations for San Franscio until we could get back there. Room; nice except we could have the people above us when they walked across the room. Couldn't hear the street noise as our room faced the courtyard. Location: GREAT! Very close to attractions along Fisherman's Wharf and other Cable Trolley lines. I was pleased with Hilton acknowleding their error yet can't forget we lost 2 days of sightseeing in San Francisco. I would stay again at the Hilton Fisherman's Wharf. I know now to make sure the credit card I used to book any hotel rooms is a current/valid one!

I booked my stay through American Express and was given a confirmation number. When I arrived I was told that they had overbooked and my room was not available. I was not the only one who did not have their booked and confirmed room available to them. Another guest at reception was given the same story. We were offered rooms at an inferior hotel in the area. I wonder how many other 'guests' had been turned away that evening. Well done Hilton Fisherman's Wharf!

The Hilton is really within 2 blocks of the Fisherman's Wharf, which is the center of all tourist activity in San Francisco. All SF tours originate from the Wharf area. Less than 2 blocks from the trolley and the cable car stations too. The rooms are comfortable and the service is awesome! Do remember to ask for a room away from the street as those overlooking the street can be noisy. Only negative is that they do not have wi fi internet. Hotel does not have swimming pool, but most hotels in that area don't either. Great place to stay in SF.

The accomadations and staff was wonderful, but the street noise kept us up both nights. The garbage trucks and so forth sounded like they were in our room. Location was great and allowed us to walk to the wharf and other places of interest, but if you go take your ear plugs.

We really enjoyed our stay at your hotel. The location was great and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and large. Our room was facing the courtyard so we didn't have any of the streetnoise. Our only complaint was one day a breakfast buffet was set up in the hallway by the bar; we assumed it was free because it was fruits and cereal. We weren't the only ones who thought that. Come to find out,it was $10.00 per person. The bartender was gracious enough to just charge us for one. Outside of that; everything was fine.

i spent a week there, the location is great but the hotel i would say 5 out of 10, the rooms were small and if you get the street side forget it, there is a lot of noise since there are only 4 floors and it is a old hotel the windows are as thin as papers on the court side it's better. The work out room is the worse that i have seen in a really long time and i spend a lot of time in hotels. in short the hotel is nothing to jump about but the location is great.

I stayed here the night before going to have surgery at UCSF. The staff was very helpful,and very pleansent. I would stay there agian, without a second thought.

Not a big fan. We had to move into 3 rooms. First room had a buzzing noise that kept us up all night. Second room was handicapped. The people at the front desk where not very helpful or nice to deal with. This was the worse Hilton I ever stayed at. I also cannot recommend Fishermans Wharf. Alittle too dirty and touristy for my taste.

For Hilton this hotel is very sub standard. I could actually have involved myself in the conversation next door it was so clear at midnight. Not the way to relax and the upstairs people were also very audible. I had stayed at Holiday in Cathedral hill for the same price and it was a much nicer stay.
