Great Place for Privacy and Peace of Mind
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/25/09
I am a Bay Area native and I stumbled across this place on accident. The owner was very respectful and polite, and I found the room to be in very good shape. The price was very reasonable, considering most hotels in the area were more and offered less amenities. Breakfast and coffee were free, a plus in my book, and the private beach gave me the perfect hideout away from everyday stress and work. My wife and I didn't expect to be spoiled or pampered, but found the rest and tranquility to be ten times worth a room somewhere else. I plan to return in the upcoming months!

Unprofessional owner is racist against asians.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/09
i booked a 2 nights at this place cause it had the private ocean. Man this place is dirty, and the worst thing is that the owner Raoul seems like he is a bit retarted. I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and over the phone i booked it at $90 per night per room. Well i arrive to check in he states that he never gave me a quote of $90 per night and that it is $110. Next to make things worse is check in is a t 3pm?! wth? why so late? and also as me and my family stood around we went to the beach and saw that our rooms we ready, the maids finished cleaning them and they were ready for us to go in. So i go to the office and and ask if i can check in cause the maids were done cleaning them, by now raoul is not there and there is a white lady acting a bit erratic and saying the room is not clean and is not ready to check in. I say to her i just checked and they were clean, but she insisted that they are not ready and i had to wait till 3pm.!! JESUS then the owner raoul comes in and i ask him if i can check in cause the rooms are ready. he babbles to himself shuffles papers for like 5 mins and then says fine you can check in. then worst of all makes a racist comment. "you asians are the worst always trying to check in early, and being cheap". i was dumbfounded and didnt comment, i told hiim that i dont want to stay here and want to cancel my reservation, he replies back and says you cant that he is gonna charge me $40 per room per night if i cancel. In the end i just stayed. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. tHE OWNER RAOUL IS RACIST AND KEEPS CHANGING HIS ROOM RATES WHENEVER HE FEELS LIKE IT, EVEN THOUGH YOU SPOKE WITH HIM ABOUT THE PRICE BEFORE. ITS LIKE TALKING TO A CHILD,I REALLY THINK HE IS A BIT RETARTED LEGALLY.

We will not return to Pine Beach Inn
By Sharen, 10/24/08
Having stayed here twice before a year ago, and the year before that, we were surprised at how run down it seemed this time when we checked in. Negative: the mattresses on the two double beds were atrocious, we will not return. There were paint chips on the bedspread, dropping from the ceiling? Funky. Positive: I do like the private cove; it is delightful. The fog coming in off the ocean is magical when sitting on their beach. The motel is quiet even being on Highway 1. The Thai Restaurant on the property was recommended to us by locals, but we chose to eat with friends in Fort Bragg, nearby. And as someone mentioned, bring your own radio, really good music in the area! TV in room worked fine.

Not a Good First Impression
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/19/08
We arrived for a stay over the President's Day weekend and it really is run down! Looks nothing like the pictures at all. There were about 5 couples checking in, and we all had the same horrified looks on our faces. "Continental Breakfast" was a table in the lobby, dirty, with a dirty toaster. We ate elsewhere. The "ocean view" room we got overlooked lots of dead trees. You had to go out on the balcony and lean WAY over to see any water. On the plus side, the bed was comfy and it was very quiet at night.

Completely unprofessional
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/07
When we checked in last Wed. I tripped on an unlit path and split my lip on the pavement and had a concussion. When my husband stopped in the office to ask directions to the emergency room we were not offered one ounce of compensation. When I stopped in to show my black eye and stitches I was not even told "We're sorry." Clearly, they will be hearing more from me.

We stayed there 2 nights
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/07
We spent two nights at the Pine Beach Inn. We stayed in an ocean view room for $109.00/night. The room was clean, had new carpet (hunter green), new mattresses and bedspread. It had a microwave, refrigerator and a TV. The room did not have a radio so bring one if you want to enjoy some music. The balcony overlooks heavily treed acreage and a view of the cove beach (the beach is about a 5 minute walk). If you're a bird watcher, be sure to bring your binoculars as the birding is excellent from your room. (Bring some peanuts for the jays for some entertainment). While your packing, put ALL your beauty needs in as the bathroom was lacking in shampoo and quality soap. If you drink wine in your room, bring wine glasses there's only disposal cups in the room. There is a hair dryer, but I didn't use it as it was falling off the wall. We've been to Ft. Bragg many times over the years and have seen dramatic changes in dining out. We were very disappointed in some of the restaurants, and the quality of food served in the ones we ate at was not worth the money we spent. I had the displeasure of meeting dia&rhea after eating breakfast in one of the recommended restaurants. For a few meals, we went to Safeway and purchased soups, bagels, deli items and enjoyed dining on the balcony. We would stay at the Inn again and do the Safeway dining instead of spending $$$$ at restaurants.

Great private beach!
By Elizabeth, 03/19/07
We had read a few negative older reviews, so we were a litte hesitant. However, we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Motel was not fancy, but rooms were spacious and clean. Beds have wonderful new mattresses. The new owner has been working hard to make the motel more attractive. Best of all is the access to the private beach...which can be seen from some of the motel rooms. The beach was beautiful...a great place for families. The price of the rooms was so reasonable. Later, we checked out other places in Ft.Bragg...and we were so glad that we had chosen Pine Beach Inn.

Great Family Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/06
We stayed in an ocean view suite that was very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen/family room area of the suite was great especially because we had kids with us. The ocean view from the room was pretty but small. The hotel's private beach is beautiful! The continental breakfast each morning was lacking in variety and taste and the room had no internet connection. We would definitely stay here again especially if we had kids with us.
