Barracks meets Luxury hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/06
Unfriendly reception staff, small, undecorated room, television remotes that don't work (and can't be programmed by the staff) Nothing like the website photos represent. The only bright spot in the stay was the spa package. The massage folks were friendly and good. The rest of it was not even close to what we expected. Overpriced. We are crossing this one off our list

I'd definitely stay there again
By Steve, 12/05/05
I recently stayed at this quint little hotel and it was very nice! The location is fantastic - it's right on the main street. Walk out the front door and you're on the main street with all the shops and restaurants. I stayed in a standard room which was fine with me. I spent most of my time outside the hotel doing activities. Prices were average for that area. Very nice looking hotel. Been around since the late 1800's and gives that old time feeling, but very updated too and it's a national historical spot (if you're into the historical side of it). Has a restaurant and bar in the downstairs lobby area. Has it's own spa treatment center in the hotel as well (mud bath, massage, all that stuff). The only complaint I could think of was I could hear the bar still rumbling at 1am - but I just turned my TV louder and that took care of that. They have a 24-hour heated pool and spa which I used at some crazy hour like 2am. Private back entrance into the hotel as well. Parking was a pain, but then again, parking anywhere in that city is a pain. They delivered to our door a continental breakfast - coffee, apple, banana, OJ, 2 muffins and 2 croissants and the daily newspaper. The staff was very helpful in pointing out good places to eat and things to check out and even other spa places besides the one in their own hotel! I did get a mud bath and massage @ the hotel and it was the best. Their facilities were VERY clean and hygienic. I didn't have a reservation either - just walked in and got a room - that easy. If you don't stay there, their spa treatments are definitely worth checking out - and their bar and restaurant too. Not sure if they gave free internet access, but then again, I didn't bring my laptop - but they did offer free voice mail and fax service if needed. It's a very romantic place for a couple to just get away for the weekend.
