Monterey Plaza Hotel And Spa, Monterey

My husband and I stayed here for our first night as husband and wife! We were very impressed with the room. Not only did it have a fabulous ocean view, but the decor was beautiful. At first we didn't see a bed, just a living room set-up. But the bed hides against the wall. It looked like a beautiful piece of furniture and gives the room an open feel to it. We used the breakfast vouchers the next a.m. and we were very pleased with the food, but especially the service! The valet parking attendants were the best!

Peaceful.What more is it to be said about this place? When we find a place we like it to be known, we have already told all our friends.

I LOVE THE HOTEL, I HAVE STAYED THERE SEVERAL TIMES. THE SERVICE IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. MET ALL MY NEEDS. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK.

I exited my car at the entrance to the Plaza and was quickly assisted by the valet. Even though my little Honda was cocooned by a Lexus, 2 BMW's and a Mercedes, I still received the same level of service. After a smooth check in, I arrived at my room and after seeing my bags were already there, I looked up to see a large bay sliding glass door with a view straight to the ocean. The Plaza even had binoculars to watch the sailboats, sea gulls, and sea otters. I was there with the board of directors and other chief officers of my company, and I expected a tiring 3 days as we rolled up our sleeves to develop next year's strategic plan and update our long-term vision. Because of the beauty, service, food, and sea air, my expectation of stress was not fulfilled. I returned to the office relaxed and ready to roll. I gave 4/5 for Service due to our long wait time at thier Duck House restaurant and for the bakery sending only muffins made with nuts (I'm allergic). I gave 4/5 for value because this luxury hotel is quite pricey. Everything else was wonderful and somethings were perfect. If you can, indulge and get an oceanview room with a balcony!

It is a beautiful hotel, right on the beach. The service has always been fantastic. The rooms are extremely comfortable and clean, with the relaxing sound of the waves crashing on the beach. We are members of the spa, and have enjoyed its services several times. The spa's outdoor hot tub has an impeccable view, and the spa services are varied and wonderful...very relaxing. The restaurant (Duck Club) was very nice. Great ocean views where you can watch for otters and seals while waiting for your meal. The hotel itself is very convenient to shopping, wine tasting, beach activities, and many other Monterey sites & fun things to do. We have stayed here several times, and have always enjoyed our stay.

Very nice hotel with nice sheets, fluffy bathrobes, pleasant choice of artwork, and nice solid wood throughout hotel. Extra $16/night for parking. Right on the ocean. Next time I probably would go for the cheaper hotel for a family trip.

just awful, not what expected-depicted on brochure material, pricey, not worth the $$$$ of admission, not even close to 4**** (four star) claimed if we ever go back to the area, we�ll be staying in another hotel even if we have to travel to-from adyacent cities

Celebrated our 25th anniversay and loved our room with a view. The room was amazingly quiet, no noise from above or from the side rooms. Bathroom was sparkling with plenty of towels. The bed was perfect, no morning back ache from a cheap mattress. Best to order room service, which was also very good, and enjoy breakfast with a view of the Pacific Ocean out the sliding doors. Coffee was great with the complimentary paper. Never waited longer then 5 minutes for our vehicle to be brought up by the valet service. Can't wait to go back, truly a fantastic place to stay.

I loved that it has an ocean veiw from my room . it was the best survice ever.I also loved the food, appretiation, plus the lady that gave me a masash was like the best ever

This is a very upscale hotel in a very upscale city. Monterey is a really beautiful place and this hotel is right on the water overlooking the ocean and Monterey Bay. Looking through the floor to ceiling windows the waves seem to be breaking at your feet as you are standing there. The elegant lobby is just a few stories above white water waves as the entire hotel seems to have been built on a pier overlooking the ocean. They have a rooftop spa that overlooks the ocean and a health club that takes up the entire floor. Here you will find an outdoor fireplace and two hot tubs where you can relax and take in the crisp, cool Monterey air.
