Mission Inn, San Francisco

It is supposedly illegal to have those old gas wall heaters in bedrooms. Two days of headache and the faint smell of gas before i realized the problem. My toddler could have died. Seriously. That was after they transferred my room to the smoking rooms in back because of Mission Street. Forget sleeping if you are a light sleeper if your room faces that street. Oh, and my friend found dead bugs and flies in the kitchen window sills. The only plus- there is a coin-op laundry on-site. And the price, but there are reasons for that! Preferred the Marina Motel. Pricier, but softer towels, better toiletries, quaint, soft beds, quiet at night, nicer staff and a corkscrew in the kitchen. Mission Inn SUCKS.

I don't know what happened with all these other people's experience but in my first hand experience, the staff were all very friendly and they made us feel very welcomed. However we got lost and took the wrong freeway exit, fortunately we were able to call in and the gentleman that answered the phone wwas very helpful and gave us directions. We arrived much earlier than expected. The gentleman that was at the front desk was nice enough to check us in at 11:00 and we waited for about 30 minutes until we got in the room. He prioritized our room to be cleaned by the maid. Very much appreciated because my family and I were sooooo tired from the long drive, we just crashed on the bed, soooo exausted. The bed was so comfortable had tons of pillows, we had the nonsmoking rm in the non smoking building on the top level, which had a pretty cool view of what San Fran is all about. The only thing is my brother is a smoker and he had to go down by the elevator on a bench to smoke because we were told that the entire bldg we were on was totally NON SMOKING! What?! and that if someone smoked in our room we would be charged a penalty. But ofcourse I am not willing to pay that much just so my brother could smoke in the room and I don't smoke as I told her, hate the smell of it. So no smoke, no probs, no charges, no harm done. Seems fair enough. Breakfast was great, filled us up before heading for fisherman's wharf. The lady was very helpful booked us a tour for the next day. Definitely will stay here again.

totally dislike the lady manager. she is a liar, and a rude person. want to overcharge for everything. dont ever stay there, EVER!!

This hotel was really a nice play to stay. Very clean rooms and the Front Desk Personnel were very accommodating and helpful. Plenty of parking convenient location.

We enjoyed our trip & our stay at Mission Inn. It was very pleasant. When we come back to San Fran, we'll sure be staying at this one! Excellent Amenities! Loved, loved, loved our stay. Although it is little off downtown, easy accessible transportation near by. They call it the MUNI bus. The managers were very down to earth & friendly people. Rooms were clean. The housekeeping serviced our room, and were very proffesional. Coin operated laundry was conveniently located at the Mission Inn. I recommend this place for anyone's next vacay.

I'm from Los Angeles, I'm a new student at SFSU. I stayed at the Mission Inn for 1 week, while searching for an apartment. The manager gave me an excellent weekly rate. It kept me in my budget range. He was friendly and welcoming, so are the maids. The maids changed my sheets, took my garbage out for me and gave me fresh towels every other day. The rooms were very clean. Offered a variety of muffins, cereals, milk, juice and hot drinks. Not to mention Wifi service was also excellent! So was the free parking. The area made me feel safe & secure. My car didn't get broken into. Which was a plus for me, because I stayed at a different motel in downtown area and some freak decided to break into my car for some junk I left in my car. Bottom line for the low price, I got way more than I expected. Great prompt service! I highly recommend this motel for anyone looking for a nice descent place to stay that's on a low budget, at the same time wants excellent service. Tip: If you're staying at this motel, they have a chinese restaurant that delivers awesome fast food! There's other restaurats just couple of minutes of walk too.

I stayed there for 3 days. The rooms were clean. The manager Jossie upgraded my room to a deluxe room at no additional charge. So I loved that my room had extra decorative pillows, which helped with my bad back. We walked all over Fisherman's Wharf & Chinatown that day. So to come back to a nice comfortable room was very much needed that night, So I was glad we found this motel. It was not located in downtown, however, conveniently there was a bus that stops at the corner of the motel, took us straight to San Francisco's downtown. The clerk gave us excellent directions, She was very helpful. Housekeeping staff were very helpful, they helped us with our luggages. They offered free breakfast in the cafe, the time was convenient opened until 11 am. Highspeed Wireless Internet was also free at no charge, unlimited access. Overall this place was perfect for a nice place to stay,while on a vacation.

I teach at City College San Francisco. Because my commute is long, I put up with the horrible service, quality, and disgusting filth for the sake of the low price. When I was a few minutes late checking out, the worthless clerk chastized me as if I were a derelict, and insisted that I pay extra. I reminded him that I stay once every week. Still he charged me. This person takes the hospitality out of the hospitality industry and replaces it with HOSTILITY. That simple-minded little rodent cost them THOUSANDS $$$$ of my business for the sake of me being a few minutes late. I have him to thank for finding the Best Western Civic Center which is comparable in price but 100 times the quality. They also have a noon checkout.

The lady at the counter was mean she want helpful at all the charged me extra when i got there... and i did my reservation through priceline and i got a room with 3 beds well when i got there the lady told me they dont have a 3 bed room and that they call priceline but i never got any call or email to let me know that...and the location its awful it didnt feel safe to walk around to the store or restaurants close by so before u book this hotel think twice cause service,location and imformation of this hotel its not right!!!!

The motel overall is great for the price value. It was a nice decent motel and neighborhood. I felt very safe & secure. The room is nice and clean with a delicate design. Kitchenette was available, great for families that are staying in San Francisco for a vacation. Wireless Highspeed Internet access was available, I had my notebook comp. with me and that was very convenient. Bus transits were very accessible right down the street. The Bart train was also in the neighborhood. Easy access to Chinatown, Downtown, The Beach, The Malls, Fisherman's Wharf/ Pier 39. Also the San Francisco weather was nice when we visited. One day it was nice and warm & the next it was Snowing in the Marin County Mountains! The kids had so much fun. They also had complimentary Coffee in the morning at the motel, which was great, We didn't have to go to a local coffee shop. Saved some pennies as well. I was also told that Will Smith's upcoming movie Persuit of Happiness was filmed there, which is pretty cool. In my experience, the people were very friendly & welcoming. I hope this review helps.
