Cockroach Motel !
By JASMINE, 01/22/10
Our stay at this hotel was horrible. Not only did I wake up during the night to find coackroaches in our room, I was afraid they had gotten into our suitcases. Their restaurant staff could not speak english. Even after we pointed what we wanted in the menu, the cook managed to mess up our order and we got something totaly different than what we ordered. Breakfast was better as our server was able to reasonably communicate with us. We also found out this place had recently been purchased by Japanese and they only had a Japanese cook who made sushi only and no American food. Now how dumb is that!!! I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Comfortable, adequate for the occasion

We liked it's proximity to the cruise ship, and the shuttle service to the cruise dock. Also, parking for our vehicle while on the cruise

Not Bad for the $$$$$
By , 02/20/08
Although I wasn't there but two nights, I found this location to be great for a convention in L.B. Only 7-8 minutes to the convention center, with plenty of sites to see. Hotel is clean, comfortable, and the staff was very pleasant. No it isn't 5 star, but very good value for the $.

Good location for Cruise ship travellers
By Choong K, 02/08/06
I stayed at this place in October 2004 for one night prior to boarding my Cruise to the Mexican Riviera. I agree with all the previous Yahoo-travel reviews in that this place is highly over-rated. The rooms are old and a bit musty. Service is virtually non-existent. However, it is a convenient hotel if your sole purpose is for a place to stay the night prior to your cruise. We did not eat at the hotel but there are a few restaurants and fast food outlets on the main street outside. They offer a shuttle service (extra charges) to the LA Cruise Terminal.

Thought it would be better
By Greg or Denise, 01/31/06
Good location - we thought it had a good cruise package with transportation and breakast... But, continental breakfast was not available as promised, you had to sit in the resataurant and be served toast and they were to busy to wait on people - we walked to McDonalds. Transportation was un-organized and late. Property is pretty dated in design and decor. Seemed under staffed to handle the business.

Horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/05
Besides being exorbitantly overpriced, the Holiday Inn of San Pedro has a myriad of other problems. Let's start with the basics: 1) The rooms smell awful; 2) Fleas leap around on the carpets and on the bed covers; and 3) The decorating scheme looks like a disatrous hybrid of a Louis XIV look crossed with a California beach motif (if you can even imagine a combination this awful). And what, you might ask, does sleeping in a hovel like this cost (...drum roll...) $169 per night. I can say, without hyperbole, that you could get a cleaner, more tastefully decorated, and more fragrant room at a rundown transient hotel in downtown L.A. Please, do yourself a favor and avoid the Holiday Inn of San Pedro like the plague.
