IT VERY SMALL AND VERY OLD

VERY disappointed for a Ramada, 1)poor service at check-in, about 6 of us in line, one person at counter at 3pm on a Friday! 2) got the room, what a HUGE HUGE HUGE disappointment. the "room" (not all rooms are suites as they advertise) it was SO small and very old. Cannot even describe how small it was, oh..yes i can...you can watch tv while you are sitting on the toilet...serious. the only furniture was a small 3 drawer chest and the tv covered the whole top of that. the chest was old worn gouges and scratched up. table and chairs (OLD) were the same. Even the door to the room had huge chunks of paint out of it and splatters on it. ONLY COLD water in the bathroom sink (only sink) so, if you wanted to wash your hand in hot/warm water you had to used the bathtub. this makes me wonder how the cleaning staff "cleans" the room with cold water. do NOT plan on entertaining yourself or your kids with pay per view movies, there were only about 6 to choose from, only 1 for kids (shrek3) and maybe spiderman could be for kids the rest, all 4-5 of them, were all dark intense movies, think there was one comedy. I only have one good thing to say about the visit is that the tv had lots of channels. I left a pair of earrings in the room, when I got home the next day, I called to ask about them, the front desk said they would have to ask housekeeping and could I call back in 20 minutes!! well, for starters, I would think housekeeping would have turned them, then I would think a reputable hotel would have called me to tell me that they had found them and were holding them for me, (they did not) when I called back, they had the earrings but did not seem too enthusiastic that they were able to hold them for me until I was able to come get them. No offer to mail them to me. luckily I only live 30 miles away. when I went to check out and turn in my "'comment card" there wasn't even anyone at the front desk, so I left, which worked out good, now I will mail it to corporate instead of the hotel itself.
the breakfast was "fair" their idea of a "hot breakfast buffet" was the basic continental breakfast, cereals, pastries, the "hot" part was canned sausage gravy over cold biscuits, and one day breakfast burritos with not much in them and the next day cheese omelets floating in the water from the steam from the covered tray they were in. they had make your own waffles, on Sunday the waffle irons still had food on it from the previous day, I was the first one in, so I know it was from the day before. Bfast is supposed to be at 6:30, I was there on 7/24-7/26, on Sunday I was there a bit after 6:30 with several others the dining area, (very small for hotel this size, plan on eating outside) waiting, it was dark, I finally walked in and asked the attendant when it opened, she said it was open, it was totally dark, so I turned there lights on, there was nothing out on the counter yet, it was not ready to open, by this time it was almost 7 am. I went and turned the lights on myself and then everyone else came in...there is nothing at this hotel that would entice me to return to it or try any other Ramada...there is a Quality Inn, Motel 6 and La Quinta all in a row next to this hotel. my recommendation...try one of them. there outside of the hotel looks nice but the rooms are so so old, a coat of paint in a room does not qualify as "remodeled" i had a friend drop in for a visit and his comment was "I thought Ramada was a better chain than this". So did I. Motel 6 much better...
