Nice Room, Central to Everything!
By hitdeslopes, 5/3/10
Nice room, but it could be updated a little. They view of the boats and the Bay Bridge was great, staff was very nice. Walked all over the city, BART, Cable Cars and Street Cars all at the front door. Enjoyed the Regency Club breakfast and happy hour. We will definately be back.

awesome stay
By love to eat, 10/5/09
The room was really clean. I had a beautiful view of the Oakland Bay Bridge. The bed was really comfy and climate control was easily adjustable. The staff was really awesome. They had a great food selection at the breakfast buffet. The lobby is really pretty during the Christmas holiday. I can't wait to come back to this hotel for the next holiday season.

wonderful area
By John, 3/30/09
great area for commuting from BART across the bay; access to taxis, cable cars, bus; got a 3 day pass across the street at ferry bldg for $18; read the map & go crazy; Got reservation from Hotwire for $125 & upgraded to "bayview" for $35 more; Bed was very comfortable; tried to buy it from the internet; found it cheaper on the internet; then was given added charges because "you got yhe room for a reduced rate"; we received these chsrges after we returned hom 2 days alter; just lucky we checked our online banking account and called the Hyatt and complained; charges were removed; "You received the room for less than you should have"; But the "manager" siad he would remove the extra charges and he did;

The only place we stay, our little honeymoons
By tomp, 1/18/09
There is nothing to dislike. My husband and I come to San Francisco to visit our daughter who is in college at USFC and we have always stayed here. We love it, the bay view, the great hospitality of the staff and just the overall lovely look of the place, especially at Christmas. We will always come back and stay no place else.

Location, location, location
By Charlie P, 8/29/08
Pros: LOCATION! The BART (subway) and cable cars are literally right outside the door, allows you to get to both airports without taxi or rental cars; Ferry Building is right across the street on the Embarcadero, Walgreen, Subway and 7-Eleven are on the street outside the hotel as well; walking distance to both Fishermen's Wharf and Chinatown; the view outside to the Bay (if you have Bay View rooms) are great, very helpful concierge downstairs that will help you get to where and what you need; free local paper in the morning (never read it so can't remember the name). Cons: A little pricey even for SF, but location may be factored in for a premium; want $10/day for WIFI, totally unacceptable in this day and age, particularly for SF (really glad I had my smartphone); if you have a lower level room with door facing the atrium (which 90% of rooms do), be prepared for a lot of crowd noise from the bar in the atrium late into the night; same can be said about street noise from the balcony. There is so much to do around we never used room service so no comment there. Rooms are neither overly clean or dirty, bathroom fixtures (w/ granite) are modern.

Bad Experience
By Fok-er, 7/15/08
1) Internet doesn't work. The Wi-Fi sys keep kicking me out every few mins 2) 45 mins wait for getting my car from valet 3) over $50 a day valet park. a nearby garage charge $30 4) no one pick up my call at the front desk 5) safe doesn't work. 6) super tricky snack bar. (don't even try to open it) 7) handicap bathroom is not good for young kid (they need to climb up and down to use the toilet) WILL NOT stay there again!!!!

I loved it!
By Candida, 2/29/08
I stayed at the Hyatt for five nights on a business related trip and I really loved it. The room was really nice and the bed was so comfortable and roomy - I slept very well. The outstanding thing about this hotel is how quiet it is. I never heard footsteps, noise in the hall, plumbing noises (other guests showering at 5am) - it was incredibly quiet. I never heard anyone else's TV or other disturbing noise - it was heaven. I always ask for a quiet room on business trips but I travel with earplugs. I did not have to use them at the Hyatt. The view from my room was stunning. The lights on the Bay Bridge at night twinkling on the water - really nice. The Hyatt is very pricey. The 9.95 a day charge for the use of their wifi is ridiculous! They shouldn't do that. I didn't even try the restaurants - SF is full of wonderful restaurants with reasonably priced fare. I spent every evening enjoying SF, the pier, Union Square and independent films at the Landmark right across the street. The Hyatt is in a terrific location. I even liked the shampoos etc products in the Hyatt's "white ginger" scent. Very special and smelled great. I asked to have the wet bar emptied so I could use the refrigerator and they brought a small refrigerator to my room immediately for my use.

We are planning our next stay at the hyatt
By April, 1/25/08
We stayed in the suite in october w/my husband and two kids (ages 3 and 4) the room was awesome, it had a seperate room which REALLY made it worth it, we were impressed, the tub was awesome and there just felt like enough space for the kids to run around and not feel so claustophobic, there was a balcony (which they honestly should have had better security/safety locks on, for the kids) which was really nice to have. the people working there were very helpful and we really felt good about our stay. the elevator is awesome (there were tourists on the elevator though at times, who weren't staying there, riding the elavator up and down for fun which was slightly annoying lol, since there is enuf elavator traffic as it is, w/o adding to it but....). I can't speak for the other rooms but the suite was awesome, and the hotel is right across the street from the ferry building and also right at the start of the cable car line, (if you stay on it it ends up at whole foods which we thought was awesome). there was also a fridge in that style of room which was helpful as my son has food allergies. The bellmen were really cool too, very friendly. We are planning to go back again this year if we can get the same room.
