Quite a surprise
By ,
This hotel was recommended to me by my brother-in-law and sister. We typically try to stay at another hotel but we were looking for a room that was easier on the budget and we found it. The room had a nice large vanity area separate from the shower and toilet. It made getting ready much easier. The location of the hotel is perfect. We didn't have to worry about a long walk after a full day at the park. While it is not a five star hotel, the location, size of the rooms and price can't be beat.

Comments from a Kiwi :-)
By ,
My girlfriend spotted the great deals being offered ($46 per night) in late Oct - early Nov '06. The location was just fantastic with Disneyland right across the road. We notified the reception staff we would be arriving quite late at night (11-12pm) and to their credit they waited to check us in. The room was clean, spacious and all we needed. During the 5-6 days we were there we had no problems with room service and although some re-outfitting of rooms took place around us, there was little inconvenience to us. We never ate in the restaurant so can't comment on the food. Overall, our experience of the Anaheim Plaza Hotel was very positive. If you're looking for a "value for dollar" accommodation with a great location then check out the Anaheim Plaza Hotel. A question for the authors of the less positive reviews.........you sound like a bunch of whingers.........you wouldn't happen to be Ozzies (Australians) or Poms(English) would you? lol NZ

Great room & location!
By ,
Rooms have lots of space and they're clean! Only 1 short block walk to Disneyland. A/C a litle noisy. No continental breakfast is kind of a bummer.

the worst vacation ever

this ruined my stay at disneyland. The staff is very rude with their ill behavior and one even made my child cry. If you wish to have a vacation at disneyland, i suggest you dont go here.

DISGUSTING
By ,
I can't believe that this is a "Good Neighbor Hotel." My husband spent the night in the car. He coughed non-stop from the smell in the room. It was filthy and disgusting. WOULD HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND THIS. DON'T GO BY THE PICTURES ON THE INTERNET!!!! I agree - spend the extra money and stay somewhere better.

Good location, bad hotel
By ,
We stayed 4 nights in a family suite in March 2006. 4 adults, no children. Positives: 1. 10 minute walk to/from Disneyland 2. Rooms were kept clean 3. Affordable Negatives: 1. Hot water issues - most of the time water temp varied from too hot to too cold, rarely was the temp ever just right. 2. No heat in one of the rooms. It was unseasonably cold during our visit (40s), so heat was needed. We complained every day about it and they didn't fix it. 3. One of the TV's was from 1970. It was color and only went up to channel 13. 4. People at front desk were very friendly, but weren't very helpful or competent. It took an extremely long time to check in. We asked for recommendations (taxi, shuttle bus, rent car) to get to Knott's Berry Farm (amusement park about a 20 minute drive from Disney) and the guy had no clue. We took a cab for about $25-30 each way. The shuttle was $15 per person each way. I don't think I'm asking too much that a person in the service industry is knowledgeable about the area and give recommendations. 5. Shower problem #2 - The knob to make the water come out of the showerhead always got stuck about half way up, so water came out of both the shower and the tub faucet. Made the water pressure lower than it should have been. 6. 2nd room was about 5 feet smaller than the other room, so it didn't have a fridge or microwave. 7. Had to hold the handle down on the toilet for a good 10-15 seconds to get it to flush. Summary - Good location. Hotel needs updating/renovating (lobby appears to have been recently renovated - don't let it's appearance fool you on the room quality). The bathrooms are old and need the most work. Since all we did was sleep in there, it isn't a bad option for budget travelers. I would not recommend it to family and friends, however.

Room door left open!
By ,
I just returned from a stay at the Plaza, and on the 2nd day the maid service employee was kind enough to clean up my room, walk out and leave the door open for the entire day and night I was at the park. Imagine the feeling of coming back to your hotel in the dark to find your room door open about 8 inches. Then imagine what would have happened if my belongings or MUCH worse my passport had been stolen! This hotel is not a controlled entrance design, people can access it right off the street and parking lots and my room was 2 doors away from the parking lot at the back of the hotel on the ground floor. Yikes! Frankly I'm amazed and relieved nothing was missing! But that's sure beating the odds! I hung a "do not disturb:" sign on my door for the rest of the stay and skipped maid service altogether. The most disturbing thing is on 3 occasions when I asked to speak to a manager to report this, there was none available. I'm sure she's very nice when she is around. For this reason I can only recommend this hotel IF you tell the front desk staff you request someone check up on your room after maid service has left to ensure this doesn't happen to YOU! It is truely a bad thing to "come home to" and really put a cloud on my vacation. Good points would be the location, the large pool and the fact that it's clean enough, and pretty much everything works and is generally kept in good condition. Not so good are the walls & ceilings transfer a lot of noise, so it is NOT a quiet stay , and you can't miss your neighbour using the bathroom...Also water temp in the shower is all over the place!..but all in all this hotel is a good value for the money.

Could be a lot better
By ,
Even though this hotel is lacking in some things, we always stay here when we go to Disneyland. The price is right and we hardly see the room anyway, except to sleep. Most of the rooms we have been in smell. Ranging from pet odor, to mildew, to cigarette smoke. Once, the mildew was so bad we asked to be moved. The staff, however is VERY nice and helpful! This location is perfect - just walk across the street -no need to pay for parking or deal with parking or shuttle busses! Its great. With this location, you would think they would remodel and make this into a really popular hotel --they could even charge more money....

Horrible Experience
By ,
Water went from Scalding to Cold every 30 seconds non-stop. Found live cockroach in room. Air Conditioning was horrible. Room smelled of smoke. Good location though. My advise, stay anywhere else.
