The Clarion Hotel San Jose Airport completed its sleeping room renovation in January 2008. The hotel is a resort style property located one mile east of San Jose International airport with a free hot breakfast buffet. The hotel is approximately two miles from San Jose State University, Santa Clara University and about three miles from the famous Winchester Mystery House and 4 miles from Paramount's Great America theme park. All of the rooms at the Clarion Hotel San Jose were renovated in January 2008. Hotel amenities include complimentary USA Today newspapers at breakfast, a 24-hour gift and sundry shop, complimentary hot breakfast buffet, free high-speed Internet access, meeting and banquet space up to 175 people, and free parking. The Island Grill offers steak and seafood with an Island Twist, while the Bamboo Lounge features Karaoke, Jazz/Blues/Dance music, and DJ nights. For onsite recreation, guests will find an outdoor pool, spa, exercise room, putting green and patio area.Guest rooms feature Web TV, Nintendo 64, Serta Five-Star mattresses, coffeemakers, hairdryers, irons, ironing boards, cable TVs, in-room movies, mini-refrigerators (based upon availability), telephones, and voicemail. Extended airport parking is available at $10 per day.

Horrible Management

The one star is for the management at this hotel. If I could do zero stars, I would. They overcharged me on my room. I politely called to complain. I was hung up on by the manager on duty. I asked to speak to her manager and was finally transferred to that person's voicemail. I left a voicemail with my contact info and never heard back. I've tried repeatedly to get this resolved and they've been extremely uncooperative with me.

Great Place to Stay

The rooms were great, comfortable beds, clean, updated. The pool area with hot tub was beautiful & convenient. All of the staff were very helpful. The free breakfast was unbelievable-waffles, cereal, pancakes, sausage, coffee, juices..... I would definitely go back again, and recommend this hotel to everyone. Tina & Courtney

We found the rooms upgraded with brand new FABULOUS beds and a wonderful staff. I have noticed most of these other reviews are old and before the new ownership. This is a very nice hotel with a great pool area and perfect for people and families trying to enjoy the bay area on a budget... We will be back!!!
 
 
 
 
 
Never again!

Arrived at the airport at 8pm and called for the shuttle. Three phone calls and 45 minutes later it finally arrived. I had booked a courtyard view room and they gave me one facing the parking lot - on the second floor with no elevator. I will say that when I complained, the clerk did some shifting of reservations and gave me a free room upgrade in order to give me a ground floor room in a quiet corner of the courtyard. But my "upgraded" room was awful. I've stayed at no-tell motels that were better! Dingy, smelly, with a concave mattress that made my back ache just looking at it. I ended up calling another hotel to book a room for the remainder of my stay, and checked out after just one night. Definitely not up to par.

Not at all cosy, seemed dirty

At check in, the woman at the counter was a little rude when I asked questions and seemed annoyed. When we entered the room, the smell of mildew was present in the room. The room was clean, however, with the smell it *seemed* dirty. Our room was directly next to the cleaning crew office. They yelled instructions to each other across the hallway and throughout the room next door. This could be plainly heard in our room. After a 13 hour flight, it is not pleasant to be awaken at 6:30am this way. The two redeeming qualities were the very convenient airpot shuttle and the hot breakfat, although the breakfast stopped serving at a too early 9am.
 
 
 
 
 
A Great Place to Rest!

The Clarion hotel was easy to locate and very comfortable. The staff was pleasant and professional. I most enjoyed the atmosphere because it impressed me as much larger that it actually was. The grounds were well maintained and very clean. I enjoyed a deilicious breakfast and the dining attendant was so helpful. I would stay at this Clarion hotel again and would recommend it to my friends and acquaintances.

OK

This is nothing. The room is similar as Motel 8. Internet is fine but they should tell people in advance that this does not have wireless so that clients can prepare. The staff needs to be more professional. We come to the hotel around NOON. They did not allow to check in before 2PM. Otherwise, it will charge for 20 dollars. This is ridiculous. The Hotel was Decent

Clarion San Jose Dissappoints

I write from a room in this hotel. My laundry, promised for this evening has apparently been lost. The front desk has no knowlege of it's whereabouts and the hotel manager left the property without returning my call. I am advised to wait another day and see if it shows up. The room is motel like in feel and design, with a noisy and clunky air conditioner below the window blowing on the bed. The furnishings are worn and scratched. Doors open onto onto the parking lot. This nonsmoking room has a strong odor of deodorizer. Internet access worked in this room, but not my associates. (Same musty smell). Restaurant OK but slow if busy and billed dinner to wrong table. Room service steak arrived without utensils, but corrected less than 20 minutes later (cold steak). There are other choices in the area. Lost clothing and unreliable service gives poor net value. The failure of staff to respond is unnecessary.
