don't expect good service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/06
The rooms are okay for the price, however there are better hotels in the area - look at the Marriott or the Hilton. I called the hotel for shuttle service and waited for over 45 minutes - after calling them 3 times they finally picked me up at the amtrak station that is 3 miles away - and they taught that they offer the service. None of the times that I called did they have the common sense to inform me that it would be 30 minutes - instead they told me that they'd be right there. It didn't get any better from that point forward. When I asked to speak with the mgr, he was conveniently "unavailable". No elevators to the room - you're on your own. Red Lion has definitely become a do not stay location in my book.

Not happy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/06
We stayed over a weekend of traveling with my daughter and family. My husband and I are almost in our 80's and were disappointed with our room. The shower head was broken and when I called the front desk the young lady who answered was not nice about it.She said she would send the housekeeper to see the problem. The two housekeepers came very quickly and were very helpful and nice. We wanted to go to another room but the front desk said there were no more rooms. The housekeepers quickly found a room close to my daughters room and cleaned it very fast. They even helped carry our belongings to the room. The breakfast in the morning is good but overall we will probably not be staying there again.

Good general hotel
By Marie, 03/25/06
It is a little run-down. Service has been great, staff is friendly. Watch out for the hot water settings. Interior courtyard is not to be missed. Breakfast in the mornings are decent, but not spectacular good safe stay.

Great Jacuzzi Suites
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
My wife and I regularly stay at the Red Lion to get away and take advantage of one of their Jacuzzi Suites. The room is twice as big as their other rooms with a Jacuzzi tub that fits two. We looked around before staying here and found the tub to the biggest. The price is great. We pay $160 on average for the suite considering most regular rooms at other hotels are in the ball park of $100. The other suite without the jacuzzi ran us $120 - they sold out of the jacuzzi suites one weekend. Nice room, just as big but not as special. The staff is always friendly and even knows us by name now. Free Wi-Fi Internet is available but we never use it. They just put in pillow-top mattresses and all I have to say is WOW! Big difference over the other beds. They have a large pool and a bar. The restaurant and bar is not open for lunch though but does open for breakfast and dinner. Suggestion to hotel: please open bar during lunch on weekends at least. We typically stay on the weekend when beakfast is not included with the room. The breakfast buffet is a deal though for $7. Portions are large. We have throughly enjoyed our stays. If I could change one thing, I would like to be able to check-in earlier. While check-in is 3pm, we like to start our getaway early. It was explained that the suites are popular on the weekends and most people don't check-out til noon. We usually get checked in around 2pm since we are regulars and have established a nice relationship with the front desk.

Negatives: it took 2 hours and a trip to the front desk to get a TV remote. Beds a little soft (average), no bike in excercise room. Positives: clean, friendly staff, free breakfast, evening reception with complimentary drinks.
