Watch out for $16 dirty towel fee.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/22/09
We have been here before and like that it is located on a semi-private beach. We don't mind paying $15 extra per night for our dog to stay, but we were surprised to see that they deducted $34 for what they claimed were two ruined towels. When I called to see what they were talking about they told me that if they can not get their used towels brilliantly white they will charge the occupant $16 plus tax for each towel. They claim that the state will not allow them to use bleach to clean their towels. I noticed several other comments regarding this ruse, so if you go use your own towels.

Not satisfied, hidden charges, poor managment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/05/09
My friends and I stayed at this hotel this last weekend, and left it spotless upon check out. I even made the beds! Upon check out housekeeping "checked" the rooms to make sure they were clean etc, and I was told by the woman at the front desk (wish I could remember her name) that I would be getting my $100 deposit back, the rooms looked good, etc. I check my account balance today and $25 was charged to my card. When I called I got the run around, and after 2 hours finally got a hold of someone that could tell me what was going on. "Two towels had dirt stains on them." I was furious. I had called and complained about the towels being dirty, and none were EVER sent to the room. They claimed they didnt remember my call, and the charge remained. I will never go back.

great place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/29/08
My wife and I really enjoyed the B B Frontier. The price was reasonable, the decor was cool and the location was ideal. Close to the Village, even closer to the Cowboy Express. Will stay again and again.

Watch out for hidden charges
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/17/08
We were charged $55.00 for dirty towels. Watch out for hidden charges. Several people were complaining about this when we were there. When we brought this up to the manager, he left!

WARNING! THEY GIVE YOUR CABIN AWAY!
By Jennifer, 02/07/08
I've been reserving a cabin at Big Bear Frontier for about 4 years. I go up to the mountains with my family a few times a year. At first, this place seemed really nice and reasonable. A lot has changed! About 2 years ago, our cabin that we booked was given away. They had to put us up in another cabin. I settled for that and didn't argue it. However, this happened again when we were up there on February 2-4 2008. We arrived there and were told that someone was already in the cabin that we had reserved. Come to find out, they told us that a lady had lied and said that she had booked cabin #1, when actually she booked #11. They gave into her and gave her our cabin. No one at the front desk took responsibility for this. They told us there was nothing they could do about it. One worker kept telling me how he prefers cabin #11 over #1. I told him thats nice and that maybe he likes that cabin but I don't. I booked #1 and wanted that cabin. What is the point of me calling and making reservations for a specific cabin when the reservations don't stick? When we finally did check out of cabin #11, they offered us a $50 credit for our next stay. Unbelievable! First of all I paid $600. $50 is nothing! And on top of that, they actually believe I will be coming back. Yeah right! In the past I have recommended this place to friends, but no more! To give my cabin away 2 different times is ridiculous. Fed up with Big Bear Frontier and will never stay there again.

Great Place On the Lake
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/06
We loved the Big Bear Frontier because it is right on the lake and we could walk to restaruants, the movies, bowling and just about everything. Staff was great and cabin was wonderful. Could not have been better.

great cabin
By Diana, 07/27/06
I made a reservation on the web and than read some of the reviews and was afraid to go. Our cabin was really clean, across the street from the lake and within walking distance from the Village. We had a great time. We didn't really interact with the staff but at check in/check out time they were very friendly. I would definately go back there again and stay in the same place.

Weekend Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/06
Just spent a pleasant weekend at this resort. This is not a 4 star resort, but cabin had just about everything you would need for a cozy stay. Could have used a few large bowls since there is a partial kitchen and cooking made sense. Outside park setting was well maintained and BBQ was right across from cabin. Lakeview was excellent and staff was very nice and attentive. Pool could have used a little extra care. Lots of bugs had parked during the day and it didn't look like anyone had tried to remove them. All in all we enjoyed our stay and I would return to this establishment for another visit.

Comfortable, not fancy
By Monica, 05/04/06
We stayed in a creekside room in the hotel. Clean, comfortable. Not Fancy. Maid service a bit slow. Pool was nice and clean. Close to the village. We walked just about everywhere.

Batting 1000 great place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/26/06
This is my second stay at the Big Bear Frontier and again was very happy with my experience. First thing I was offered by the Frontier staff when entering into the lobby was a discount for my stay without asking for one!!!. Nice saved about $30.00 for one evening Stayed in Cabin 23 which has both a gas heater and a wood fireplace. The décor outstanding with an old western flavor. The view of the lake and terrain was wonderful from my cabin . The grounds keepers are meticulous on the upkeep of the surroundings, very clean and safe for all. This is a great place for families, fishermen or skiers.
