This was horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/22/05
Front desk took our money without telling us it would be a two hour wait for our room. Reserved room under ATM card and paid with our Visa but our ATM card was charged. Manager was completely rude. Continental breakfast was a joke. Room was filthy.

Nice Place but some things needed.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/06
The rooms were nice, but they are badly in need of an exercise room with recumbent bicycles and other equipment. People like to do their exercises and keep their bodies subtle even when they are away from home. The continental breakfast which consisted of an orange or an apple on alternate days, danish, toast and jam, milk, juice and coffee. More fruit is needed. It would be nice to see some cereal available both cooked and cold. Supply some soy milk for those who are milk intolerant. Soy milk keeps in the fridge for a number of days. Unlike milk, it does not sour quickly. Many people would like that addition. What is needed close by is a Home Town Buffet to replace Captain Kidd's buffet. Captain Kidd's is a sad excuse for a buffet. The food was awful, and I heard that expression from a number of people. You need the expertise of the people at Home Town Buffet to set up a restaurant that is very superior to anything I have seen elsewhere.

2 star motel with a great location
By VeeP, 11/28/06
pro: Great location, good people, recently updated paint con: stale smelling room, 6 inch foam mattresses, only one car parking spot per suite/room While this worked well for us, it definitely isn't a 4/5 star motel.

A Very DIRTY Hotel
By June Chiu, 7/9/07
We went to Disneyland last week. When I entered the room, I just saw a VERY BIG corckroch's dead body. And the carpet was super dirty. I just kept reminding my kids(5&7) wearing shoes all the time. For this hotel, except for the great location, everything is just terrible. And I'll never stay there again.

what kind of vacation r u on?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/8/06
this place is definetly two stars for a reason...but if you are just trying to find a place to stay, and cheap because you are not going to be spending any time on the hotel then this will work great for you. If you would like to have a nice stay, and are going to be spending tiem at the hotel i would recommend staying elsewhere and paying a little more. For kids: it's okay because there is a disneyland view which is great but and the pool is indoors however it is very small...service was nothing great but nothing unexpected for $50 a night.

*** Excellent Hotel 4 it's Price ***
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/5/08
As always Desert Inn & Suites came through for our family (AGAIN) ! Everthing in it's pictures is what we got and better. Hotel looks like it had a recent renovation (rooms) so that was nice. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly and the location is a family's dream come true when visiting Disneyland "ON A BUDGET". Continental Breakfast was FREE so can't complain about that. And for those of you who do shame on you - IT"S FREE!!! Elevators were a bit slow & no change machine in the laundry room.

Ok MOTEL for the price and location
By dan1964, 10/8/08
I booked this hotel about 6 months in advance so got a decent rate of $60 a night for the standard "Deluxe" room. So for that reason I decided to give this MOTEL a try. It is closer to the crosswalk to Disneyland then the other MOTEL is stay at, the Anaheim Plaza. The walk from my room to the entry gate was just shy of 10 minutes. And my room was literally at the very back of the MOTEL on the 3rd floor. Well, this motel is just that, a MOTEL. And it is definitely showing it's age, at least in the room that I had. Although everything seemed nice and clean, and the room did not have any smell of it's age, it just seemed so dingy, and the color scheme outdated. Now, as far as I am concerned, I am the type of traveler who the room is just a place to crash, and the room served that purpose well. The bed was comfortable (though to me the bedding made the bed a little to warm...) Air conditioning worked fine, and kept the room a decent temp and though a little loud on the highest setting, was still acceptable. The only thing that was a little off as far as I am concerned was the height of the shower head. I'm 6' tall, and the shower head was only at about 5 and a half feet. But again, this is an older MOTEL, and I guess when it was built, people were shorter. I never had a problem with the availability of hot water while taking a shower (although the knob for hot and cold water was reversed). The sink did not have the best water pressure, and even still would not drain fast enough. It was nice to have a mini-refrigerator and microwave in the room. And I have to say the fridge worked great! Kept everything nice and cool as it was supposed to (I say this because I have stayed at MOTELS in the area that the fridge just barely kept things cool enough not to spoil). The room also had a small safe in it. It was a nice addition to keep things like spare camera, extra credit cards/cash in. Overall, If I got a really good rate again, I might stay at this MOTEL, but I think that I will book with the Anaheim Plaza for my next trip. The rooms are just a little bigger .. and definitely have more light. (and the price of about $70 a night is good for the area).

Believe me, we wont be back
By Kendra Gramza, 4/18/06
If you want somewhere close to Disneyland but don't mind not sleeping, this is the place for you. The top matress on our bed was about 6 inches deep...very uncomfortable. The continental breakfast consisted of toast, sweet rolls, and oranges. The place was dirty. I don't recomend it.

Horrible Experience!
By neveragain, 4/26/09
The only thing good about the hotel is that it is right across from Disneyland's entrance-and the staff knows it! The suite we booked was not available so our family of 4 was crammed into a smaller room and had to come back from Disneyland the next day to move our stuff to the larger room. When we came back that evening to go to bed, the second bed had dirty sheets (excuse the graphics-but boogers and hair were stuck to the sheets GROSS!) We did not use that bed and the kids slept on the sofa that night. We put the sign out for maid service the next day and headed to Disneyland. To our surprise the sheets were not changed again the second night! We ended our trip one day earlier than planned as we could not bear one more night in that filthy hotel. They were painting the walls the entire trip-watch your clothes on the way out. Covered our cars in plastic to avoid overspray-don’t plan on leaving and when we tried to speak to the staff about the concerns, there was a jackhammer in the background of the lobby noisily jacking away. The staff was very empathetic. They basically said we called you on your way here to let you know your room was not ready so too bad. For the inconvenience they gave us a whirlpool tub in the second room and discounted to first night by $20.00-Big deal when you are spending so much money with them. The continental breakfast is a joke-cereal, apples and $1.00 doughnuts. I recommend eating out and staying at another hotel such as the Del Sol Inn (right next door to this one and looks much newer and nicer inside).
