Step Back in time...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/07
We spent Friday night to Sunday afternoon. The Hotel is nothing to marvel at, but it has its own charm. It’s older. The mattress need some work. kind of on the hard side No hair dryer in the room or iron. Irons can be requested from the front desk. The iron I had looked like it was soaked in lime water for 23 years. For the price I paid I was happy. If you want a hotel that has your basic need this will work for you. The rooms are clean. I loved the refrigerator for our Adult Beverages. AC works great! Our room had a patio that over looked to pools. The Kids Pool was close so if you don’t like the chatting of the little ones stay away! We just relaxed, got facials, swam, and used the hot tubs. One night we stayed in a hot tub until 5am. It was very peaceful. The restaurant is more like a dinner. The food I had was pretty good. The Bar is set up with a few TV’s and has Karaoke AT NIGHT. The location is not far from Palm Springs and some night life. I would like If they did a little more to improve some things… like coffee maker, iron and a few more creature comforts. But if they add more the price may go up. If you are a person that like high priced over the top fancy things this is not a place for you. If you can appreciate old school down to earth fun and relaxing then you may have a great time. I had my first facial of my life and I loved it. Very relaxing. Sang a few songs at Kareokee. Had a few drinks at the bar and did not have to worry about driving. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner only steps away. I will stay again.

Wonderful and relaxing experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/07
I just returned home to Washington State last night, after spending my first time ever in Desert Hot Springs. Your hotel was recommended by the Valley Breeze newspaper, and I am so grateful that I took that advice. The thing that impressed me the most was your staff - what wonderful, helpful and friendly people! I would come back just for that fact alone, but, I also have to commend the room service, which was very prompt. I enjoyed my meals, and just totally relaxed in the wonderful atmosphere. I hope some day to return to DHS, and will definitely make reservations with the Desert Hot Springs Spa Hotel. Thank you for sending me home completely spoiled and rested! Anne, Kent, WA

I really enjoy relaxing and getting away from the fast city life here
By Clara, 08/06/07
The employees at the cafe are rude and have bad customer service. Please remind your employees that customer service is important. Are table was dirty. We didnt get help quick because employees were too busy talking to each other. Bathrooms in locker rooms were dirty.

gotta love it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/07
sun, palm trees, a good quiet hot soak. a great place to un-plug. They constanly monitor the 7 different temperature pools for chemicals. You can get a massage or Spa treatment menu. Its just nice.

Freezing Pool
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/22/07
First off, you'd think the employees would figure that something is wrong when everyone is standing in the dinky jacuzzis with no working jets, shivering, while the pool is completely empty (and this is July)! I stuck one toe into the pool and it was an iceberg. I told the manager and his explanation was that it takes too long to fill the pool. Hello? The mineral water comes out of the ground at 170 degrees. How much can it take to add some cool water and make it possible for older people with arthritis to swim. BTW: the jacuzzis are crumbling, no jets work, and the place is in need of MAJOR renovation. Will NEVER go BACK.

Fun
By Amber, 04/23/07
This place isn't for everyone, but I have been going there about twice a year for the last 5 years and love it. It's really fun with a group. They do allow the "public" in on day passes but not for free as someone mentioned above. It gets crowded during the day, but at night it is great swimming in 80 degree water in an olympic sized swimming pool by yourself under the stars. Nowhere else have I experienced that. Don't go if you want fancy. There's not really anywhere to eat close by but you can drive to Palm Springs and Palm Desert in 20-30 mins.

Has alot of potential but.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/16/07
O.K I used to come to this place as a child. We would come alot and with alot of family. I came a couple of times as a teen also, with girlfriends. Its really a great little place, with pools all around you. The little coffee shop is not that bad either, but only for breakfast or lunch, not for dinner. The rooms on the other hand are horiffic. The rooms are so dirty and old.You don't want to touch anything. I am talking like visible filth. The beds are as old as I am. I did not even shower because the bathroom was so nasty. I figured I would stay cleaner if i stayed out of the bathroom. Its really sad because this place could be a really cool spot.

If are picky, this is not a place for you
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/26/07
Most of the comments regarding the hot/cold temperature of the shower heads in the rooms, dated furnishings and chipped concrete/old concrete swimming pools/jacuzzis is true. However, the staff were pleasant and the availability of food/beverages at poolside was convenient. The spa services are reasonably priced and readily available. We had a massage and facial and both were good. However, the cabanas are poolside and it takes awhile to drown out the noise of the outside. Lots of pools that small kids could enjoy. Very few "tourists" and lots of local families using the day admission option. It wasn't conveniently located to other attractions. Definitely a "motel" feel with absolutely no "frills". If you want quality and nice amenities, this isn't for you. Although our stay was ok, I wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend it.
