Dishonest Staff and Inferior Rooms
By GregoryH, 07/28/09
The facility was advertised as Non-Smoking, and under amenities stated Non-Smoking. Despite my request, the staff placed me in a room totally permeated with the smell of smoke complete with matches and ashtrays. I called and complained immediately and the staff first pretended to believe the room was non-smoking until I pointed out the ashtrays and matches. Then about 15 minutes later they moved me to a room that smelled of the hotel deodorant so badly I could barely breath. What they had done was to find another smoking room, take out all the ashtrays and perfume it so heavily one could not tell it was actually a smoking room. When I complained about the fumigation/stench the aggressive problem solver came to my room and told me he liked the smell of the deodorant/perfume. (Great but I am the one who has to stay here.) I coughed the entire stay and my clothing, even the stuff tucked away in their drawers smelled so heavily of smoke when I returned home, it took two washings to remove the smell. This hotel is a fraud, dishonest, and could care less about the satisfaction and health of its guests. In short, it is a pit. Even smokers should be concerned about a facility that cares so little about its guests. The room safe was inoperable and the promised help never arrived until over an hour later. The safety latch on the door was broken. Avoid this hotel at all costs. I was so sorry I stayed there.

Wouldn't stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/09/08
I travel all over California on business and often stay at Vagabond's to save money. Everyone I have stayed at is pretty good with respect to quality of the room and the service is always great. This particular hotel is a dump. If I had never stayed at a Vagabond before staying at this one I would never stay at a Vagabond again. Just avoid this particular hotel. The rooms inside look like they havent been updated in 30years. Cheap linens, towels, poor a/c, bad tv, it had nothing going for it. It looks like the owner is very cheap. It's a stay one night and never stay again hotel.

manager is NOT nice
By Audra, 04/12/07
The manager was flat out rude. When we checked in, she was on the phone with someone who was asking if there were any muffins left in the continental breakfast. she has an accent and was trying to explain that there were none- and she just HUNG UP on the person. Not great customer service!!! The air conditioning didn't work right. it would cut to just blowing out air after a while. not pleasant for night time sleeping. the window only opened a crack. The pool and sauna were nice. the landscaping was nice as well. I guess you get what you pay for.

Good value for the price and location.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/10/06
Conveniently located off the freeway and well priced for the area. The larger hotels are all in the $200 price range. When we travel for business, very little time is spent in the hotel, so paying less for a clean room is always appreciated!

Great hotel only if amenities more consistent
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/05
The best features of this hotel was its location and room service. The cleaning staff was very respectful of my privacy and even called to make sure if I needed anything since I didn't want room service. What I did not like was the inconsistencies of all the rooms' amenities. Some rooms were either provided with hair dryers, iron steamers, microwaves while others had a combination of some amenities and others didn't have any at all. Thus, while those amenties are available you must make sure you request those amenities for your room a day or two before checking in to make sure you get those items. Otherwise, you will be disappointed since the hotel info makes it appear as though those features are standard on every room when it's not. Also, bring some Lysol disinfectant spray to freshen up the room and kill any bacteria(some rooms stinks). I've stayed there twice and my theory is that the longer you reserve the room (3 plus nights), the better chance you have of getting the complete amenities in your room. Otherwise, all you really get is a basic room like a Motel 6 if you reserve for 2 days or less. Thus, ask to make sure your room is getting all the listed features/amenities. The first time I stayed for 5 days, I gave it an excellent rating for the price and complete amenities. The second time, a poor rating because of the inconsistencies of amenities.

Did not like!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/05
The lady was very rude! MY daughters broke down and were greesy and tired from trying to work on there car, so I got them a room here. The lady Verbally treated my daughters like they were street walkers! The shower was stopped up and the TV didn't work.
