That homeless person living behind the hotel was me. You got me kicked out. Thanks a lot and goddammit!

I put a lot of thought and effort into this 4 day vacation to San Diego. Me, my mom,sister and 2 kids drove 7 hours to San Diego. Upon arrival we checked into the filthies room I've ever stayed in. The sheets were disgusting as were the pillows and cases. My sister has worked for a hotel before and could tell the sheets had not been changed after the last guest you could see where the body had slept. there were 7 hairs in the bed and 5 pubic hairs in the tub. We went to the lobby and explained to the desk clerk Thay in which she replied " Well the whole city is booked this weekend so good luck finding a different room." After an hour she sent someone to clean the room.Maria wasnt a maid but was very pleasant and helpful. There was no phone book which didnt matter since the phone didnt work. The remote to the TV didnt work. The room stunk and was musty. There was never any place to park because the parking lot didnt accomodate all the customers even though they charge a parking fee per night to all hotel customers. The hot breakfast wasnt hot it was old apples and oranges, fruit loops, a bowl of hard boiled eggs that kids had their hands picking up eggs and then putting them back, warm juice, 2 waffle makers and 1 toaster for 300 people. I went to the front desk to ask for a roll away bed (since the phone didnt work) she told me she'd check. So I stepped aside and waited, and waited and waited. A couple of people checked in but otherwise I was the only person in the lobby and after 20 minutes I stepped back up to the desk and says can I help you. I was like um I've been waiting for the bed she says oh they took it to your room. She let me satnd there for 25 minutes and didnt bother to tell me. There was no manager the whole weekend, and our first night was ruined since it took almost 3 hours to get the room clean. When we complained she told us there were no other rooms in town and so good luck finding one and then offered us $17 dollars off our $600 bill. Men were running up to the doors and slipping flyers in the crack and running away . I commented to my mother that it looked really shady. When we went to the desk to ask ( phones still broke) they informed us they were trespassers and not to order from them and its an on going problem. Then why werent we informed of that when we first checked in. The maid knocked AS she was walking in thank goodness no one was naked. The location couldnt be better we were 7 minutes from Sea World, the beach, and the zoo. But I would NEVER stay there again, I cant believe Comfort Inn allows this place to represent them. The pictures are nothing like the real thing.

Don't be fooled by the pictures displayed on the website, this place is a dump! The carpets were filthy. We were promised a cleaning or a change of rooms, neither happened. There are homeless people living on the hill behind the hotel! The owners / staff are remarkably un-helpful and unconcerned. The 'continental' breakfast is just sad; some bagels and old fruit. Avoid this place and locate a nearby competitor, you'll likely be very glad you did.

I thought the staff was very friendly and the hotel was close to everything we wanted to see. We had a great time. The price was very reasonable.

The price was great for a two bedroom suite. The kitchen area was great for fixing snacks and light cooking. It was nice having two bathrooms and the larger table in one room for eating. The room was clean and comfortable. It was very spacious for a family with 4 little kids, much better than a basic suite style room. The pool area was great with a big pool, kids pool, and spa. The breakfast room was clean and well stocked with muffins, bagels, cereal, drinks, etc. We stayed at a not so busy time so we didn't have to wait in a long line to fix waffles which might be an issue during the busy times of year since there are only 3 waffle makers. It's a central location close to everything: Shopping, Sea World, Mission Beach, The Zoo, Old Town, etc...

Never stayed at a Comfort Inn, so thought we'd give it a try. Bad idea. Clean room, Comfortable bed. Room the size of a hampser cage - got clastrophobia. Need to run window AC 24/7 just to keep the stuffiness down. Walls paper-thin - very noisy, so don't plan on sleeping in on the weekend. "Deluxe Breakfast Buffet" - apples and bruised oranges - no seasonal fruit. Carb fest - fruit loops, frosted flakes, bagels, toast, waffles, muffins. Boiled egg had a hair on it - yuck! Line 10 deep to make a waffle or get coffee. Imagine +100 people all trying to get breakfast all at once - seating for about 50 people, so plan on taking your "breakfast" back to your room - you'll want to because it's so noisy that you can't hear yourself. Reminded me of cattle at a feed lot - disgusting! Shampoo container refilled each day, no conditioner. Pool towels the size of a hand towel - needed a stack just to dry off. Not enough parking for everyone. We needed a bucket of ice at 10 pm on a Saturday night, but the ice machine is in the pool area and it was locked. Front desk expected me to walk around to the remote back side of the hotel to get ice from another machine - no chance. This was one of the worst places we've stayed in California - suggest you spend a little more and stay at Motel 6!

The hotel had limited parking,the room smelled like musty smoke and the whole property is seedy and poorly lit, the kind of place you wonder if your car will be in one piece in the morning. Bottom line is find somewhere else to stay.

Our bathroom was NEVER clean, it usually smelled of urine. The filth, hairs and dirt behind the bathroom door were there when we arrived and stayed there when we left, a week later. Breakfast had nothing to do with the colorful picture they have at the entrance. Our TV didn't work properly and we had to watch pay movies with continuos interruptions of other channels (after alot of arguing, we managed not to get charged for them). Internet never seemed to work correctly, we had to keep logging in or restarting our computer. As soon as our week was through we moved to another hotel in San Diego.

First I need to say that they have the best free continental breakfast I've ever seen in a motel. Also the location is great: minutes drive to everything. Also the service was good. This being said, the hotel was very noisy. Noise from the guests which they have not much control on. But also noise from the plumbing. When our neighbors used their bathrooms, there was so much noise in our room that it would wake us in the middle of the night.

I stayed here with my family and the room size was decent. The room size was the least of my worries, the sheets were dirty and I had the housekeeping staff bring clean sheets/blankets for both beds. The crib was wobbly, the A/C was horribly loud, and the room smelled like old smoke. It just seems run down to me the exception is the lobby which looks nice. I will say the advertisement doesn't match what you actually get. I was soooo disappointed with this hotel, I would NEVER stay there again.
