Pleasantly Surprised
By The K Man, 6/19/08
I have stayed at many Days Inns over the years, and this is one of the best. The room was spotless, the decor tasteful, the linens of a good quality, and the bed comfortable. I understand that the hotel recently underwent a renovation, and it shows. On a negative side, the breakfast was a disappointment.

Award For Worst Hotel 2003
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/28/05
Orbitz rates this hotel with two stars, but maybe that was several years ago when the property was in much better condition. This hotel is dirty and poorly maintained, and if I could have found another accommodations I would have not stayed. I booked this hotel on Orbitz, and until this reservation I had always found their rating system accurate. The fact that the property needs serious updating did not bother me as much as the lack of cleanliness. The worst thing was the carpeting, which needed serious cleaning, and there was trash under ice and vending machines. Since this was a cheap room, I didn't expect much, but I did expect it to be clean. Also, really bad coffee and cheap donuts are not served until 8 am, so there is no reason to wait for them. Think twice about staying in such a poorly managed hotel, because in this case you pay for much more than you get. Staying on the road 65% of my life, this hotel receives the award for the worst place I stayed in 2003.

great price only
By Deanna, 5/25/08
We just stayed here for one night during a week long road trip down Highway 1 May 2008. We picked it because it was the cheapest. It looked to as if go through a recent remodel but the rooms weren't finished. The light fixtures weren't in yet, there was no pool, and they put our room next to the laundry room. There was only one other person staying in the entire hotel and we get placed next to the washing machines that started first thing in the morning. Not to mention the owners talked/argued loudly outside of our doors asking if it has been cleaned or not. Seriously, some people want to sleep in on a vacation, don't start friggin screaming outside of my hotel door. The best thing about the whole visit was that there were six huge fluffy pillows to sleep with. That would be great if all hotels would have that many.

Over priced
By Helica, 8/19/08
This hotel is way over priced. It's very low budget. The continental breakfast was just cereal, waffles and oatmeal. Juice and coffee was very watered down. There wasn't an iron or board in the room as it states. The staff (same guy all weekend) wasn't very friendly. The spa was broken without an estimated time for it to be fixed. The "Days Inn" sign is only posted on one side of the signage so we passed it up trying to find Days Inn. The former hotel sign is still in the front.

Bravo!
By Nori, 7/12/04
I stayed just one night in March 2004 and they provided wonderful services. Actually it locates on the opposite side of the coast, but their service and hospitality is really nice. The room is big enough and clean, the coffe machine is set in each room. I can recommend this good motel along US-1.

Was satisfied with room & front desk
By REM, 8/18/09
Despite the negativity I read I booked a room for one night for my older daughter and myself for a quick weekend get-a-away and was very satisfied with our room. Bed was comfortable and room clean. Cont. breakfast was okay and area clean too. Front desk wasn't open for us to drop off our keys in morning (9 a.m.) but no biggie. Check in was hassle free and attendant courteous and kind to us. I'll be coming back for future stays.

Bed bugs!! do not book this hotel
By Frypan, 5/3/11
We checked in at may 2nd and found bite around 2 am next day and found 3 bed bugs with my bloods when killed, called the manager and he changed room for us, but same thing happened, we have found another bed bug with afew more bites, I have noticed the manager again and he almost yelling at says they never have bed bugs and their rooms was rented everyday and changed sheet everyday, anyways, I am going to making a big fuss, I am typing my pc till morning and then I am going to get his ass off for cheat "never had problem before", check google reviews and bedbugregister.com, they have many reports since 2010 for the bed bugs problem, I guess they are just so cheap and not want to spent money to fix it.

Don't Go!!!!
By TimothyB, 3/6/07
This was probably the dirtiest room I have ever stayed in and the price was quite high (I as told it was because of the Holiday weekend)about $150 per night. If our arrival had been earlier in the evening and my family and I had not been so tired after a long journey I would have found another hotel. The carpet was stained, walls dirty, patio was overgrown with weeds, fixtures in bathroom old and in need of repair, walls needed paint. This might have been a great place to stay a few years back but until they remodel I would not recommend it. One bright spot- the food in the cafe next door was very good and reasonably priced.

Bargain!
By Cashanda, 4/21/04
This hotel is located on the same strip as the rest of the hotels in San Simeon--NONE of which were names I recognized. So booking this hotel was a really lucky shot in the dark! It's kind of a weird set up at first, but once I got to the room I was pleasantly surprised! The room was spotless and smelled fresh. There was a small fridge, coffee machine and cable t.v. Their 'ocean view' wasn't really what I consider an ocean view though... More of an 'ocean glimpse' really. Still, all in all, I was a very happy camper! It's so much easier to relax and sleep when you're not wondering whether the sheets or the toilet are clean!

DON'T STAY HERE!!! BED BUGS!
By MarkF, 5/26/09
I'm 52 years old and have stayed at hotels in 17 countries. This is a horrible first for me. We checked in and thought the room looked clean and good size. My wife was sleepy after dinner and went to sleep about 11pm. I was not and started reading. Soon I saw a bug crawl across the bed. honestly, I didn't think much about it, crushed it and flicked it off the bed. Soon, a second tiny bug crawled out. I jumped up and captured it in a plastic cup. I woke my wife and she sleepily said "wake me if you find another." It didn't take long. Within 10 minutes a larger one appeared and I put it in the cup. I woke my wife and we went to the office at 1:10am. He "graciously" (HAHA) refunded our money and told us he didn't have another room (like I wanted another of HIS rooms!). He called the Quality Inn next door and they had a room. I expected he would pay, considering we had to flee his filth at 1am. "I'm not authorized" he said! BALONEY! Can you imagine how gross this was? BUGS crawling on us! What if I hadn't decided to read? We'd have had these things crawling on us all night!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! At least one room (Room 220) is infested!
