Terrible Hotel
By David, 09/18/09
Had a terrible experience with this hotel and do not recommend it. The staff checked me into my room and then pulled me out the following day saying I did not have a reservation. It ended up being a mistake on their part and were very rude about it all. Rooms are the most outdated I have seen and I travel a lot. Rooms are also not very soundproof and the traffic outside is very loud. Worst hotel I have been in as a business traveler.

NOISE FROM STREET KEPT ME UP ALL NIGHT!
By Loyal Customer, 08/02/09
I could tell you about a number of positive features but they are all outweighed by the most important negative feature. The noise factor. Every room has windows that the hotel has chosen not to upgrade so you get to hear every street noise - as if you're bed was on the street! The hotel is clearly aware of this problem so they leave ear-plugs (that don't work) on your pillow! From the homeless fighting in the street at 3am to the horns and buses driving by at 7:30am - you will never forget you are downtown - NOR WILL YOU EVER SLEEP IN THIS HOTEL!!!

Beautiful, Great Area, Great Service,Rooms:
By glenndaj, 08/07/08
The hotel was just as I expected in the lobby and service areas. Room was a little old, expected with a historic hotel. Room was dusty...really dusty. Bed seemed clean. Traffic was noisy at night. $40.00 a night for parking but to me it was worth it! No being alone in the parking garage or looking for a parking space. I would stay there again for the right discount price.

I loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/07
i liked the hotel because the food was delicious and the hotel looked outstanding. I liked everything and i didnt dislike anything. The beds were relaxing and comfy and it was just like being in heaven. My first thoughts were that i couldnt wait to explore and when i did i was astonished at how good the hotel actually was!

Wow!
By shellz, 12/28/07
Every inch of this historic hotel is magnificent..every little detail beautiful. The room/bath may be considered small when compared to todays standards but it was far from being cramped & they were done very well to maximize space. We arrived late (12:30am) so we weren't able to visit the restaurants or bars. Since they were closed we walked around the hotel seeking the "Roman Style Pool". There we found a maintenance man who greeted us and offered a tour of the hotel. Our hour long tour granted us access to locked/closed ballrooms, secret doors/passages and secrets & history that the hotel holds. It was an incredible night! * Very close to all of the area attractions without all the hustle & bustle or nasty motel lined streets. I wish our stay was longer. I definitely will be staying there next time I'm in the area. *Tip: I understand that there is a downtown organization that holds a tour of the hotel once a month.

RUN!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/25/07
Do not stay! Don't pay attention to the photos or anything you read that makes you think it is worth the price. Before I arrived I call the night supervisor to confirm my reservation. "I will tell you what you what the room will be..just listen" as she barked the difference between adjoining and two rooms next to each other. Very rude. The other comment I got when I called and said that the hotel had mixed reviews online was..."those people should not complain, it is not like they are going to live here." Management needs to read the comments and respond..or change the management. The stay just confirmed it all..run the other way!!!!

Fine, but Internet isn't free
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/07
I stayed at the Biltmore for a conference, so I can't speak to whether or not it is a good location because I never left the hotel! My room had a view of a brick wall, but since I wasn't paying for the room, I didn't complain. It is an older hotel, so the room was small and the tv is small and older, but it was comfortable and I don't really have anything to complain about...EXCEPT...the one major turn-off is that they say that they have "wireless Internet" but fail to mention that 1) It costs $9.95/day 2)you need to use an ethernet cord (luckily that's provided in the room) 3)The wireless in most rooms doesn't seem to work (thus the cord) because the signal is too weak 4) You can use the wireless in the lobby, but need to pay ANOTHER $9.95. What a joke. In this day and age, I find it ridiculous that a hotel of this size would not have free wireless internet available throughout the hotel. 5)There is a "business center" with Internet, but that costs .45 a minute with a minimum of $3. ps. My cell phone reception in my room was very spotty, so it would be difficult to do a lot of business in your room.

Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/07
Just stayed overnight in downtown LA at Millinium and it was a great experience. It is a magnificant and beautifully restored historic building. Our room was smaller but very, very elegant with a walk-in closet! Martini bar sexy, breakfast elegant. Right in the center of old LA and thus we took an architectural tour the next morning. highly recommend this hotel. Michigan Visitor

Called our new home after The Biltmore
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/03/07
What a surprise this Hotel was when we arrived in Downtown L.A. in 2006. The building is magnificent, the history was so interesting and we felt so special just being part of the place for a couple of nights. The breakfast at Smeraldi's was memorable and watching a wedding couple have their photos taken as we sipped coffees by the fountain was great. Have to go back just one more time in our life and are doing so in 2008 - can't wait.
