DO NOT STAY HERE
By Idil, 09/24/09
I am too lazy to write reviews unless the place im staying is extremely awesome or extremely awful. In this case it is the latter. First of all, what I don't get about thompson hotels is why they charge 10 dollars a day for internet that barely works. We all know that internet is so cheap that its almost free. For a hotel that charges hundreds of dollars a night, im sure that internet could be included in the room charge without the hassle of buying it everyday. This hotel is so dark all the mirrors and rooms are tinted when you are in for the california sun you find yourself in draculas castle. I havent seen myself once in the mirror the whole time here because the mirrors are pretty much black. Dark doesnt always mean classy. The front of the hotel always looks like a brothel. This hotel has only two elevators that both staff and the guests share. Even though the staff is nice, they make stops on every floor and cause for long waits due to their business traffic of occupying the elevators. It gets incredibly annoying after a while when it takes half an hour to simply go downstairs or upstairs. Our room had a tv (with all buttons locked) and the wrong remote control. We had to call and tip an engineer for things that should have been there in the first place. It almost makes me think they do it on purpose. This hotel barely has a pool and a bar and the restaurant is overpriced and not tasty at all. And you pay just as much for parking as you pay for staying here and there's nowhere to park nearby. Parking is 30 dollars a day. Their fresh juices are anything but. Overall, so not worth your money you're better off somewhere else. I just hope one day thompson hotels realize that their customers are not stupid and service lies in the small details of everyday comfort. Charging 10dollars for internet is CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!! GREEDY!

Awesome Boutique in LA with NY feel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/08
I travel often, I'm an executive in philanthropic work and go between London, SF, NY, Miami, Aspen and Paris. I have to say I usually am not a fan of LA, especially not Beverly Hills, but when my assistant booked this room for me and I walked into the hotel I was very happy and felt like I was being taken care of like a new york hotel would do - which is why i love new york and London - bes service at hotels.. anyways at first i was annoyed because the hotel had scaffolding and was under construction, apparently it was once a best western, the roof has a pool but it was not open so that was a bummer - however the room was awesome, a great city view, a balcony (never in la!) and i for sure will come back once Bond Street opens. I am told you will be able to get it from room service too and there is wireless throughout the hotel, efficent valet which i never thought i'd say about LA and well i just hope these people open some more hotels in areas I travel to more often. I'm told that i should come back in March when the hotels all completed and there is a rooftop pool and lounge/bar area i can hang by hat. Very cool, also I have no idea who the photographer is they hired for their in room shots or hallway shots but they're cool - its like a New York fashion house, with black shiney walls and ceilings in the hall and crazy artwork at the end of each hallway!

sitting in the room right now
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/04/07
the hotel is pretty nice - great location. cleaning staff isn't great though and the parking is expensive. the renovations are definitely a draw back. i think there's too many reviews on this page that might have been written by hotel management... a lot of pumping going on.

FOREWARNED
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/07
The staff were great and helpful but the place is under CONSTRUCTION!!!!! The whole facade is being done & the lobby restaurant and pool. For a 3 star property you don't get to use any of it! The staff should really try and make up for it by offering tea and coffee instaed of you having to call down to get everything. Not even an ironing board in the room! I worked at the Hilton & Marriott internationally and know what the standards should be.

Can't beat the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/11/07
Get past the extensive renovation construction and you will be extremely pleased. The ultra modern design of the hotel floors and guest rooms are so swanky and hip it will make you feel like a million bucks. But note, as soon is the renovation is complete the prices are going go through the roof.

I'll be back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/25/06
This hotel offers excellant service, is imaculately clean with the charm of a boutique manor. The price was such a good value and the service outstanding. I would also like to mention that the food in the bar and grill was excellant! There is secured parking. Top notch shopping and sites are adjacent to..

won't go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/06
Room not ready at check in time. Service in restaurant was terrible. For the $ the room was in bad shape and not very clean. After having to request a room service menu, they brought me the wrong menu 1 1/2 hrs. later. The only good thing I can say about the place is, the bed wasn't bad, and the shopping location was good. You pay plenty for the location and that's it! I won't go back!

Ickey,Stickey in Beverley Hills
By violetj, 02/27/06
The valet service here was lovely.Ready to help, good local directions, cheerful staff....but then one enters the hotel. First,do not be alarmed at the argument taking place at the front desk.We found the front desk staff were always arguing with a patron and so became somewhat immune to the noise as we passed by during the length of our stay. As we entered our tiny room the filth in the carpet sort of rolled up to greet us.We have a call in to C.S.I. about what we found soiling the bedspread and the ever so interesting hair all over the bathroom CEILING is a must see. Problems were compounded when we attempted to drown our sorrows in the hotel bar. A small group of staff huddles at all times in a corner of said bar and scowls at anyone who looks as tho they might intrude. The hotel location is,however, convenient.

Excellent value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/08/05
I am a business traveler who can stay at more expensive hotel, but I just love this place. Clean, can't beat location - I love walking to all restaurant and shopping and the heated rooftop pool is the best. An incredible bargain with high speed internet, exercise room, room service and bar/grill.
