Won't stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/09
Although the front desk staff was friendly and check-on was good. Hotel needs a good clean up and better A/C units. Felt and looked dingy, good for one one night before cruise but would recommend another hotel at the same price. On the return night from our cruise, the 1st room stunk of bug spray and the 2nd room had ants. Better choice is the Vagabond hotel 2 miles away, although they will drop you at the ship they won't pick up.

would'nt stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/07
the only thing i liked about this hotel was that it was close to the cruise ship, but other then that the place was dirty dingy and the front dest people were nasty and rude, the so called continental breakfast was a joke you had to cook your own pancakes and/or waffles and the room was stuffy, the bathtub was full of hairs and we had to leave the window open most of the night just to let some of the smell out and this was in winter mind you. I would not recommend this dump to anyone.

Good location for cruise ships
By Mike, 04/07/07
This was an older but clean hotel located near the cruise ship terminal which is good if you need an overnight stay before or after your cruise. If you're staying more than a couple of days you may want to choose elsewhere because it is located on a busy road and there is no guest laundry. The rooms are large, the beds were comfortable and the included continental breakfast buffet was a nice bonus.

Deceiving
By Kathleen, 09/06/06
We stayed at this hotel for one night, we had it booked for four, after the first night we cancelled and went ot another hotel. The security at this hotel is marginal if at all. The doors were wide open till 11P witch allowed anyone to walk in and wander the halls. We watched a truck pull up with its lights off and drop off the kids to go swimming, when brought up to the desk clerk there was ntohing they could do. My opinion of this hotel is that they need new management. The staff appear nervous or frightened to do much of anything other than stand behind the counter. In the area there were alot of yound people just hangin at the corners and port, did not walk around nor would I seemed unsafe. Would not recomment to anyone!

No Internet
By Donald, 07/01/06
I decided to stay at this hotel because on the Best Western web site, it advertised this hotel as having broadband internet. When my room didn't have wireless, I went and asked the front desk. It was late at night and the front desk said I could get my room changed the next morning. The next morning, I talked to the manager and he said I couldn't change my room and that internet wasn't guaranteed. He also said the internet wasn't working in the area of the hotel due to a marine inversion layer. This sounded like a total fabrication to me. I would advise staying anywhere else, unless you are limited to the waterfront area. I will never go there again. One elevator didn't work and the one that did had sounds of running water. The room was fairly decent considering the cost.

As Expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/06
Took a cruise and did the week-long parking setup at the Hotel. Things went perfectly. Shuttle service was great, car was fine upon return and we were quickly taken to and from the ship at port. Hotel is exactly what you would expect for the price. Not a real classy set up, but you're not paying for one so don't get your hopes up. Continental breakfast was ok. Room was average. Service was fine. Because of our cruise this hotel worked wonderfully. Not sure we would've used this location for any other reason....nothing much to do in walking distance.

Reviews Had Me Nervous!
By patricia, 02/08/06
We just came back from a cruise this week and stayed overnight at the hotel. In reading all of the reviews I was really scared about the place. Then had a bad episode on phone with one of the employees when trying to check on my reservations. Once we got there though, I was pleasantly suprised at the hotel. Accomodations were nice and very clean. Pillows could be much better-just a fluff of foam is what they felt like. Breakfast was ok. Employees were very gracious (maybe they knew I had called and complained). We were able to get a shuttle quickly to take us to the pier-however, they should let the customers know that they have to make reservations for them to take you over. Otherwise you might be sitting waiting. The only other problem was that my sons room had an electrical problem when he plugged in a small fan- of which they took care of. Overall- would have no problem going back to the hotel or referring someone to it.

Burnt me twice-my fault
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/05
Stayed here twice for a cruise - Took me two times to learn. Will not use again. Big delay in getting back to hotel after cruise. Over two hours. Driver VERY rude. Staff not much better. Had electric razor stolen from our room. They could have cared less. Yes you don't pay cruise parking - not worth it unless you are on a LONG cruise 7 days.

Room was ok for one night before cruising. Would not recommend for long stay. Also was double charged by hotel and Yahoo travel and am still sorting out.
