Noisy
By Jane, 12/26/09
I liked that the hotel was away from the noisy Pacific Coast Highway nonetheless I did not get a quiet night's sleep. The first night there was a loud party going on in the next room until early morning. After the party, the remaining couple engaged in conversations for hours that I could easily hear. Earlier in the evening there was a group below conversing on an outside balcany that I could clearly hear if I left my window open which would have been nice to ventilate the room. The outside courtyard creates an echo chamber. The morning I left there were two hours of continuous leaf blowing in the very large parking lot adjacent to the hotel which began two hours before the required checkout time. This apparently is a regularly scheduled event. When I suggested at the front desk that it might be a good idea to speak to the leaf blowers and ask them to work during the interim between check out and check-in I got a strange look from the desk person. I was told that I was the first person to ever complain about the leaf blowing and was told it was unlikely anything could be done about it. Please note that my stay was off season( and Sunday, Monday) with very few rooms occupied. If you are looking for a place to party all night at a reasonable rate and conveniently located this may be the ideal hotel for you.

Excellent location for our needs/families
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/29/08
Excellent place to stay for the Dana Point Turkey Trot. This was our second stay, It does not have the look of the Laguna Cliff Marriott, but if you have a question there is always a live person near to help you (unlike, our stay at the Marriot). The first time we stood at the hotel we were surprise because the hotel had not been undated, but when we took into account the location in regards to restaurants, shops, beach, race registration, and race start you cannot ask for a better location, especially if you have children. In addition, the parking is free and the pool is warm in November .

Great location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/08
I loved the location. I walked from my room straight to the marina. I loved all the restaurants and it was fun to explore the marina. There is a rocky beach that is within walking distance. My room had a porch, a refrigerator, stove, sink, and dishes to cook with. I had a great time!

needs to update
By irene, 08/15/07
They advertise in room broadband the only internet access is in the lobby. The showers turn from hot to cold and have no pressure. The breakfast is good but they seem to always run out of food. I don't know why but the hostess holds back the food. No microwaves in the rooms. Bathrooms have no exhaust fans!

Needs Improvement!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/25/07
The location is beautiful-looking out over the marina. Walking distance to quite a few resaurants and shops, but shops were not great. Hotel pool is small, although they always had fresh towels available. Disappointing to find out they didn't have a hot tub. The carpets in the rooms made our feet dirty from walking on them! The "continental breakfast" was so bad! A bowl of apples, danish packed in celephane, fruit loop type cereals, terrible coffee, and they slammed the door in some of our parties faces because it was 9:00 a.m. and they were closing! Also, the room the breakfast is in is so small, that people were contantly bumping into one another. The hotels are expensive in this area,(I think Marriot starts around $300) so I guess it's a bargain, but really needs work.
