Must LOVE Dogs!
By TravelPaws, 9/30/10
This Inn is total Carmel with all the charm and character. Forget the pricey hotels in town, this place is adorable. Not only are the rooms too cute, but the new managers Doug and Kristina are the perfect hosts. Going above and beyond the normal managers duties, they hosted a bar-b-que the night we were there. All the guests came down for a wonderful evening around the fire. Those that had dogs...had them with them. We laughed, we ate, we danced and played with the dogs well into the evening. If you plan to stay at this too cute property...don't leave your dog behind!

Serene and romantic!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/4/08
This place is very charming! It is not within walking distance to downtown, but for us, it was what we preferred. This unique "hotel" is nestled in the trees...each unit is like a little mini cabin...the entire complex is one-story. There are not more than 30 rooms in the whole complex, I don't think. It looked like some of the rooms were stand-alone, while the ones that were connected to another unit (like ours) were only connected on one side (like a duplex). The rooms were small, probably 3/4 the size of a normal hotel room, so they were compact but cozy. The bathroom in our unit was very small and perhaps a bit dated, and the tiny closet was situated in such a way that it was extremely difficult for it to be useful. The fireplace doubled as the heating unit for the room. It was cozy and put out a lot of heat, but once the room was at the thermostat temporature, the fireplace would shut off...until the room cooled down again. The room had a small refridgerator, microwave, coffee maker, iron and blow dryer...none of which we used. We would most definitely stay here again. It was extremely quiet and serene - it was out of the congestion of the major shopping area...the cost per night was fantastic (and there was no 2-night minimum when we stayed, either!) A great, romantic place to stay!

Rustic
By Ferne, 8/21/07
The room was clean, bed comfortable, bathroom roomy & weather wonderful. It was alittle too far away from the downtown section, which we would have prefered.

Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/4/06
Very cozy and great location. At prices as little as 80 a night it is a terrific value for the Carmel area. The only complaint we had was the low water pressure and noisy water pipes. We will be staying there again.

Best value for the money!
By MN, 6/5/06
Location, breakfast selections, amenities in room (especially microwave and fridge), peaceful setting. I plan to stay there again, possibly plan a family reunion there. The heater was loud. The bathroom had a strong smell.

Ok for the price
By J, 4/4/06
Nice grounds, quiet room even though it was next to main road. Bed needs to be replace, rough time getting comfortable. Bath room needed a few repairs, rust showing through the wallpaper. Worked ok for the price - clean, quiet, pleasant host, nice grounds. Good place if they can do touch ups on the bathroom and replace the mattress. Continental breakfast: dry cereal, rolls and coffee, which you can bring back to your room (trays provided).

nice getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/25/05
Just a short drive to downtown, and right off Highway 1. Cute, convenient, and charming! Room was clean and comfortable--more like a little one room cabin than a hotel. Plus, the gas fireplace gave it a cozy feel.

Cozy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/25/05
We loved staying here. The cottages are cozy and the area is beautiful. Monterey is just a few miles away and there is so many things to do. It is definately a great romantic getaway. We had a wonderful time!
