Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel, Newport Beach

we loved the small family run hotel...it is an awesome location....close to beach, shopping, restaurants....soft bed.....and very friendly staff

I took my daughter to Newport Beach in January 2008 for her 16th birthday. We stayed in this hotel for a week and couldn't have been happier. The location is prime, so much to see within walking distance. We had a 2-queen bed room which was nice sized and very clean. The area is quiet, the staff is friendly, and the price was very reasonable. We also enjoyed the library of DVDs which can be borrowed from the lobby for use in the in-room DVD player. Great for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. We enjoyed this trip so much and have talked non-stop about it since then that our family bought us airline tickets to go back. I just booked our flights and made reservations right back at the Bay Shores Peninsula! Can't wait to return!

This hotel is unique. We stumbled on it quite by accident and fortunately they had a vacancy. The rates are comparble for the area, pricey but well worth the money.We got the upstairs corner room, which had a lovely view and was decorated very warm and cozy. One of the special treats is the hot chocolate chip cookies. They have a great selection of free movies to watch. They have quite a spread for a continental breakfast with a lovely sun room to eat it in, but the best part is the roof! You get a view of the bay and the ocean and they have lovely tables and lounge chairs to in which to relax. The hotel is in a quite area and is not to far from the pier. There are bike trails and bike rentals nearby and there across the bay there is a small amusement park. An enjoyable stay all around.

This hotel is amazing. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the atmosphere is warm and the location is phenomenal. Just steps away from the bay, and across the street from the beach. You can walk to restaurants, shopping and the Fun Zone. The staff there is the absolute friendliest!!!!! My husband and I stayed there the first nights we spent together when we were engaged - and have returned over and over for the last two years. I grew up in Newport Beach and this place is the best as far as I'm concerned. There is no place I'd rather stay. Give me the Bay Shores Hotel in Newport over the Ritz Carlton any day - and i LOVE the Ritz Carlton.

I like this place, because it was located in a spot where my husband and I could walk to dinner, go out to catch the ferry, and catch a movie in Newport Center Drive. I also liked the fact that it was a small inn. Very cozy and worth every penny. This place is great for everyone who loves the beach and loves a great, convenient and affordable lodging. The staff is awesome! They will answer any of your questions. As for cleanliness, they are strict about stains especially on towels. They charge you for a fee for leaving makeup on the towels. If you are from out-of-state and on a limited budget, this is a great place for you.

Our stay here was totally spur of the moment. At first we were pretty put off by the price of 230.00 for a Best Western. After we checked in and experienced the service, location and cleanliness of the rooms we were very satisfied. The amenities include a prett well stocked Continental Breakfast, free movie rentals and the thing I was most impressed by was they moved my car and paid for the meter until I checked out. As you probaly know, it isnt easy finding a parking spot in Newport Beach. Overall the experience was great! I still think it was a little pricey.

My wife and I just loved the location. The service was good and the rooms, smaller but cozy. If you love Newport and don't want to pay Newport prices this is the place to be.

The hotel helped create a memory of a lifetime for me. The employees were so very polite and always wanted to help make your stay enjoyable. The thing that I liked the most was the old fashioned 2 people elevator that it had to get to either floor of the hotel. It had an open kitchen for the guests with fruit, rolls, cookies, just about anything you would want. On the roof of the hotel it had a beautiful sundeck with lounge chairs or tables that you could just relax and enjoy the view or sunbath or just escape. The hotel was across the street from the beach and it you wanted to take a day to spend there, the hotel would give you everything you would need for an enjoyable day. It was also a block away from the newport beach pier, where you had your choice of some very nice restraunts. The hotel also paid tribute to this great country we live in. Each room had a name on the door that was associated with this great country. I would go there again and again. I thank them for creating such a great memory for my husband and myself. One last thing, The hotel took great pride in keeping everything looking spotless and very clean.
