Special Occasion- they missed the mark.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/09/09
Sent a large basked of goodies to Newlyweds 11-7-09 (AJ Fine Foods- EXCELLENT), for presentation to the bride and groom as a surprise. The surprise was on me, as they did not receive the basket until the next evening. Had to call to complain, and was offered the following compensation... discounted spa rate (which meant we would pay additional money for the bride and groom), or payment for partial meal. (Entre' only). With the help of AJ Fine Foods; thank you Linda, AJ's was gracious enough to work as a liason for us, and AJ's ultimately ended up paying for drinks and dessert for the couple since the hotel would not pick up the entire meal. This wasn't even their mistake, they just felt bad for us! Note for future visitors be sure if you have a special occasion that you make sure that you follow up with the details.

Best Resort in Phoenix
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/15/09
Four and a half star resort means extremely courteous staff, nice clean rooms and excellent food. We stumbled across this resort while booking our vacation to Phoenix and am so glad we did. We will always look for a resort instead of a hotel in the future. Very nice showers, beautiful pool, comfortable beds, plus the extras like vale parking, a spa, starbucks coffee and an incredible view of Phoenix. The resort is actually built into the side of a rock!

FABULOUS!
By Kimberly, 01/28/09
What a great property! The staff is attentive and gracious, the patio room we had was tucked in the back of the property next to the walking trail, giving it a secluded, natural feel. The Top of The Rock restaurant was great and our 4 year old loved their duck! I thought it was reasonably priced for a more upscale restaurant. They were kind enough to turn on the water slide for us even though it was only 70 degrees outside. There was a slight issue with one room service order, but they quickly took care of it and gave us a free appetizer for the trouble. The only 2 downsides: 1. the doors are not very soundproof so you could hear every noise in the hall; 2. paying $10/day for parking when they have amble parking and they are not located in a metro area. The property is located about 10 minutes from the Phoenix Zoo and ASU. I would love to stay here again!

ANTS
By Trouble, 09/26/08
Well my experence was that there were ants all over in the room .. on the desk and night stand and it was most disappointing. When I contacted them they said they would notify housekeeping ;( And they look forward to my next visit .. not gonna happen. Keep the light on motel 6 probably has pest control ..

Nice but not a spa destination
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/12/08
The hotel itself was nice-clean rooms, beautiful pool and good service. Every meal we ate at the hotel was good but not cheap. It was a short cab ride from the airport. I did not hear any noise from the room next door or from the highway as others had commented on. My concern was with the lack of security entering the resort/ pool. There seemed to only be only 1 guard. Although there were many people-college students- who were not resort guests, they were not asked to leave on the 2 days we were at the pool. I got the feeling like I was more at a community pool than a vacation resort. The spa services were also disappointing. The quality of the services was below the standard of what I have received at other Marriot locations. There were not any spa menues to look through before getting the treatent which could also be misleading.

Great on outside; inside is so-so
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/03/08
The hotel grounds are interesting and with a great view of Phoenix, but this feels like a hotel that is not well managed. The room service meal and especially the soup, was inedible. The rooms were not especially nice. Don't think I would stay there again.

old time arizonans

One of our favorite places for a special dinner, not cheap but a great view of Phoenix at dinner time that is awesome. And as the sun sets, it just keeps ngetting better.

Think twice.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/08
The Buttes is beautiful from the outside. The maid staff walked into my room without knocking a few times - I am well traveled and this is the first bad experience I've had with Marriott. The complimentary water that is left in room had been opened, the seal was broken. The lite bulbs on lamps needed to be replaced for you had to shake the lamps to get them to work. Too many other things, but you get the idea - do not pay alot of money to stay here, not worth it.
