hotel in need of refurbishing!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/10
Convenient location. Nice grounds. Water surges with moments of scalding hot water. When reported to the front desk, the staff stated "its hard to get good water in Arizona". Really getting good water has to do with temperature? Hallways dirty. Carpets almost black, terribly worn. Rooms stink like old cigarettes (non smoking room). Hair dryer constantly blowing circuit. Service man reported almost immediately and replaced hair dryer with an "old" hair dryer and said "I hope this works". I sent in complaints via postcard and revisited this location a month later to find that nothing changed. I guess they don't care about feedback. Twice as expensive but I recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Tempe.

Great Hotel, Excellent Location... We'll Be Back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/8/09
After hiking the Grand Canyon, five of us stayed in 2 rooms at the Dobson Ranch Inn for 2 nights. We had stayed at the hotel in the past but the last visit we noticed it was getting a little run down. We decided to bite the bullet & give it another try. We were not disappointed. The rooms have been renovated & were very clean. Our rooms both had refridgerators, comfortable beds, simple bedding, perfect size and clean. The lobby has a computer with free internet access and the continental breakfast was nice. The pool area was great ...clean and with newer furniture. We definitely recommend this hotel & are planning on staying at the Dobson this spring to get over our Wisconsin winter !!

Fantastic Week
By Rosy B, 8/3/09
Business trip --location perfect for appts I needed to make and facility was clean, spacious rooms with refrigerator and internet connection. Restaurant, "The Other Place" had such a diverse menu that I ate there every evening which was convenient. Breakfast each morning was full--not continental- so no one should leave hungry. Will definitely stay there again on any other trip to Phoenix area.

Will definitely return!
By packerfan, 1/26/08
Although the BW Dobson Ranch is not a new hotel, it is a beautiful property, well maintained, and very clean. The restaurant is excellent! An excellent value compared to other Phoenix properties - I will definitely return.

Been staying there for 7 years.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/26/08
Very convenient location. Continental breakfast is very well done. The grounds are nicely kept and the staff, on the most part, is friendly. Can find good shopping around the area and spring training is always fun.

Unethical
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/06
We had planned a conference at the Dobson Ranch Inn for a year. Had a contract and paid the deposit. Seven weeks before the confernce they said 'too bad' we are canceling you. It was a nightmare. They are unethical and not at all regretful. Just a better deal came along and they took it.

Stay away from this hotel.
By JasonY, 5/15/06
I booked my hotel room from internet for three nights ($78.00/night) for my son's graduation at ASU this May. My first night was terrible because the loud noise from the broiler next to the room (#121) kept us from getting any rest. We noticed the noise when we were ready to go to bed at around 10:00pm. We called the front desk about the noise but the lady said she couldn't do anything. We went to the office next morning complaining about the noise and requested to switch to a differnet room. The lady at the desk told us to check back at noon. When we returned, she looked into the computer and assigned us to another room in a different section of the complex. We packed all our luggages and went to this room hoping for the best. When we got there, we noticed right the way the room is next to the broiler again. We returned to the office immediately wondering if she really wanted to resolve our problem. The lady at the desk told us that since we paid the internet rate, we shouldn't expect much. She said she could move us to a suite but that would cost us more. I told her that I do expect a stanard room, which the internet site offfered. She replied with a smile, "the ad. of course will never mention a sub-standard room. At that time I demanded to talk to their manager. Finally, the manager came and gave us another room. Be aware of this lady and her rude services!

BW should drop the breakfast or do it right!
By _yourstruly_, 1/21/06
I stayed at this location for proximity to business. The wide corridors in the otherwise aging structures was a pleasant experience. Inside, room was clean with standard BW quality and included a wired hi-speed Internet connection. A fridge was there but I find a microwave to be more useful than a fridge. The two gals at the front desk were friendly and as cheerful as they could be, while dealing with a tiny personal printer being used for the crucial document printing. The printer was jamming and causing backups at the front desk. For an operation of this scale, why BW cannot spend $600 and get a business class laser printer there, is beyond me. Parking is tight here. Biggest problem I encountered was with their breakfast set up. Was given a token to take to the adjacent restaurant. Is obvious that breakfast is not in the normal operation of that restaurant. Temp tables are set up in haphazard way and the self serving area borders on chaos. On getting there I found two stony faced individuals behind the first table. They ignored my Good Morning and one of them demanded my token in a contemptuous manner. After getting the token he turned his head and shared a remark in Spanish with his buddy, which was quite apparently not in my favor. For the price I paid for this stay I did not expect to interface with street-urchin quality employees at any point in the stay. This BW has a definite problems with their breakfast operation. Perhaps an executive or two from here should stay a night at an area Hampton Inn and pick up a clue or two about how to do breakfast right. Or just drop it!!

Very convenient to most parts of the valley, the freeway is just around the corner. Food was good, served by people who actually seemed to enjoy what they were doing. No real nocks, a good value
