Madewood Plantation House, a 21-room Greek Revival-style mansion on Bayou Lafourche, is located midway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge and is a National Historic Landmark. Accommodations include rooms in the Main House and the Charlet House. Overnight guests enjoy an evening of wine and cheese, candlelit dinners, coffee, and brandy. A full plantation breakfast is served each morning. Guided tours are available daily.

Wonderful experience

In the heart of Louisiana plantation country, a gracious country escape just 90 minutes or so from New Orleans. Convivial, genteel house party atmosphere, as guests get together each night for wine and hors d'oeuvres, followed by dinner at the enormous table in the elegant dining room. Lots to do in area, from visiting plantations to swamp tours. Price is very reasonable, consider all that's included.
