Stay anywhere else
The front desk manager made a verbal agreement with us at check-in time, knowing that we may not be staying the other two nights that were reserved; because we were surprising our sister. She stated that, if we let her know as soon as possible, she would be able to avoid the cancellation fee. I spoke with her early afternoon the next day, and told her we wouldn’t be staying. She said she is still going to charge us half a room rate for us not being there. I do not appreciate being told one thing and then her not following through. We ended up staying the next night, rather than paying a cancellation fee. It was very noisy and when we got back to our room, they had not re-stocked the coffee, soap, shampoo, washcloths, etc. In addition, when we checked in the first night; there was still a dirty washcloth from the prior guest. When they “cleaned” the room for us, they still did not take the washcloth from the prior guest. It is still there, after us spending two days there. It was also apparent that one of the housekeeping staff was under the influence of drugs. We were very disappointed in the Best Western in Madras and the professional courtesies that were promised and not extended. We will not ever stay here again; and will not recommend to anyone we know. This is sad because we were counting on the Best Western reputation and the usual accommodations associated with their name.
