Walnut Street Inn, Springfield

The Walnut St. Inn was a great value for my wife and I since we stayed a total of 3 nights, and the last (Sun.) night ended up being 40% off! This is something worth looking into. Excellent service (very friendly), plenty to do in Springfield/Mansfield/Branson! Good breakfasts, different each morning we were there. The Inn is on a historic street with other homes of the same character, although is otherwise surrounded by the city/and the adjacent Missouri State University. However, the Inn seems more secluded than it is because of the privacy afforded by mature trees and beautiful flower gardens. Traffic noise can be noticeable, and shades are needed on the many (beautiful) windows at night to block out the streetlights and the decorative lights on the house. This is a very nice place to stay.

A beautiful atmosphere from the minute you walk in the door. Period furniture and decorations that really take you back in time. Very friendly staff that covered all the bases---from familiarizing us with the features of our room to telling us about area attractions. The rooms are beautiful and private. There are parlors and sitting rooms that somehow make you feel right at home. Conveniently located half a mile off of Chestnut and close to downtown. Breakfast was fantastic down to the fresh squeezed orange juice. The only thing I thought that could be improved was the trees in the back yard needed manicured a little better. Some good trimming would make them much prettier over time. But a small matter compared to all the positive attributes of this beautiful place. Highly recommended. We will be returning.

We spent our wedding night at Walnut Street Inn. I was PERFECT! We hope to spend many anniversaries visiting! The hot tub was great and the breakfast was wonderful.

After searching for places to stay while visiting family in Springfield we kept coming back to the attractiveness of this beautiful old home in the center of town. We were not disappointed in our selection. The staff was extremely helpful from the beginning of our stay until the end and the breakfasts were delicious and varied. The only drawback might be the college crowd on driving the streets outside on the weekend, but certainly not unbearable and definitely not a reason to avoid this perfect bed and breakfast. We stayed in the McCann room 3 night in October and plan to return here on our next visit.
