Hilton Munich City, Munich

Even though my review is late, I feel that I simply must commend the Hilton Munich City for their excellent service. We arrived there from a magical trip to Bavaria (Germany and Austria) but I picked up a bug and was thoroughly ill when we arrived at the hotel. We even considered canceling the rest of our trip to Belgium. I asked at check-in if the hotel had a physician on call. They said they did, and within 45 minutes this wonderful, delightful doctor arrived at our room, and spent 45 minutes catering to my needs. He even tucked me in under a down comforter and told me that I did not have to climb every mountain. (Too late, doc, we already did). For the meds, etc., we paid maybe $220 for the service. If this is socialized medicine, we want it. He totally saved our vacation and renewed our faith. Additionally, the rest of the staff were wonderful. The hotel is centrally located; it is a short subway ride to all the sights. The subway stop is under the hotel. The food was great. We cannot say enough good things about the Hilton Munich City.

I stayed at this Hotel July 2007, and I was not happy with the accomodations. I expected alot more from a Hilton. I excepted it to be like the Hiltons in the US, but it was not. The first room we were given had a broken bed, and we had to sleep in it because they had no other rooms available. The second day we had to wait half a day to get another room and that room was filthy dirty. Also a primary reason to pick this hotel was because they said they had internet in their rooms, but in the two rooms we were in it never worked, and we were constantly having repair personel in our rooms, also our second room the TV did not work requiring more repair personel. Our vacation in Munich was a disaster because of this Hotel. Would not recommend it!!! It was not anything like a Hilton back home. And I am a Hilton Honors Member and stay at alot of Hiltons in the US. We then stayed at a Bed and Breakfast type hotel at our next stay and boy what a difference. Try the German Hotels I understand they are better.

i like the people, and place both are very good and great, but what i dislike that rooms are samll even if you choose the excutive floor rooms are not as big as other hotels, but the reason why i always choose this pleace becuse of the location it has a perfect location, and also people who wrok there are very friendly. thank you

Excellent location with direct link to the Airport. Very courteous staff and excellent concierge desk that can arrange activities and transportation or S-bahn tickets for you. Walking distance to Isartor area and only two stops from Marien platz. From the S-bahn station located dirctley below the hotel you can travel anywhere in the city or regionally. Over all a very convienient and nice hotel. Its location helps newcomers to the city get around easily without getting lost. Be sure to include the excellent breakfast with your room rate or you'll have to pay 20 Euro! One negative was the very high 20 Euro per day internet charge.
