Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/1/11
We waited an hour at the airport, waiting for the hotel shuttle to pick us up. Horrible service. Never stay there again, the place is run by young adults who don't know what they are doing.

Pleasantly surprised
By Annie, 8/12/10
I'm a grad student with high standards but a very tight budget, and I got a great rate on this hotel through one of the websites where you agree to a rate and then find out where you're staying. I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews, but when I got to my room I was very pleased, especially for what I paid. The room wasn't fancy, but nice enough and very clean. The layout of the room made it seem bigger than it was and was very convenient -- the TV and dresser separated the bed and bathroom from a work area with an armchair and desk. Linens, sink, toilet, and shower were all clean and fresh. The room was a little warm when I arrived (at the end of a 90+ degree August day), but the AC cooled it right down and it was very comfortable. I was especially impressed with the service in the lounge. The Minneapolis Airport was closed due to thunderstorms the night I was there, and about 10 minutes after I sat down in the lounge the hotel was flooded with stranded travelers (and at the same time was having computer problems because of the storms). The lone bartender on duty was very busy and a little distracted -- I had to wait a little bit for my second drink and ask twice for my check -- but under the circumstances I thought he did a good job. Drinks were good and reasonably priced for a hotel ($7 glass of wine, $9 Ketel One martini). The restaurant was closed while I was there but a limited menu was served in the lounge. I didn't order anything, but most of the people around me did. They were served quickly, the food looked tasty if pretty standard, and the prices were about what I would expect. The lounge and the room were the best parts of my visit, along with the free airport shuttle (I didn't go to the pool). I had two small criticisms. First, the decor is kind of dated, especially the elevators. Second, the location is kind of sketchy... on a side road in a semi-abandoned industrial park. I found the hotel easily using google maps, and took the airport shuttle the next morning, so I didn't really care that much, but if you are looking for views of anything other than parking lots, this place isn't for you. Overall, for the price and for the convenience of a quick stay the night before an early flight, I was very pleased with this place. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Suprise!!
By brandon, 2/14/10
This place is the most nasty, cheap, and unworthy hotel i have EVER stayed at. I was promised a room with a personal hot tub that i never got, i also found a pair of underware that were left behind from some one else, when i took them to the front all they did was give me a free breakfast buffet. Along with the heat in the room was all the way down and i was sweating. So i went to the front desk and asked for a fan. half hour later a lady shows up and doesnt even know why she is there and hardly speaks english. with a half hour or so of messing around with the thermostat she asks if thats better. All i ask for was a FAN and then after i explained it to her like a three year old she finallly understood, but then never came back. Finally i had enough and checked out the hotel room at midnight. I wil NEVER come back and i would never tell any one to stay here. I give them a 0 on all aspects. Horrible!!

Avoid this place at all cost!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/18/09
The PGA Championship was going on three mile from this place. We thought it would be a great place to stay because we were going to it. The TV's in our room didn't work. No CBS. No ABC. No CBS. No local weather channel. They said it was the sattelite, but conveniently the TV's worked the Monday morning after the PGA event. Is it cheaper for the hotel to not provide service on the weekend? Saturday night the bar was full of customers. There was no bartender to be found. The bartender finally came got one drink. Then the bartender left again. We waited 45 minutes. No bartender. Every customer, us included left the bar due to this. The next day we were billed $16.58 for the one drink each my wife and I had, with a $2.36 tip added. I protested the tip at the front desk, but they wouldn't take the tip off the bill because I hadn't signed the ticket. There was no ticket to sign because there was no bartender to give me a bill/ticket. I talked to other people who stayed there, and they had similar experiences. Please find another hotel to stay at when in Bloomimgton Minnesota. I would give this place zero stars if I had that option!!!

Nice people, but they need to give a heads up
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/21/08
We reserved a room for a family overnight at Mall of America. After car trouble, we finally made it there. We thought the worst was over. Well, the crib we requested for our 16 month old daughter was not there. There were no more cribs left, we were told. Now, as we're packing up to come here, my husband asks if we should bring our pack and play. I say no because I requested a crib. They should have called us. It is now 11:59 p.m. and my daughter is still awake because SHE HAS NO CRIB! One good thing about this hotel is the free wireless internet...which allows me to warn everyone with small children to stay somewhere else. Apparently, this place is not family friendly.

A Good Hotel for the Price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/15/08
I had my concerns about this hotel from some other reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a decent location (just off I-494) but somewhat difficult to find. Knowing that going in, makes it easy. It's less than a 30 minute drive to The Mall of America, The Minnesota Zoo, or downtown Minneapolis/St. Paul, assuming you do not get stuck in rush hour traffic. The staff was nice, and the rooms were what I expected. The bed and other furniture were very comfortable. The hotel does look like it needs some work cosmetically with routine maintenance, and some other updates would be good too. One of the two elevators was not working for our entire stay there. The indoor pool looked nice but somewhat small. One reviewer mentioned the Perkins restaurant nearby, which was good with a down home decor. I would also suggest a nice drive into Edina for the Edina Grill (north on Frances St to 50th St W). It was excellent with a great menu. A nice find. All in all, it's a good price for what you get. I would stay there again the next time we are in the area.
