GuestHouse Hotel Fayetteville, Fayetteville

Although I worked at the Clarion when first built, briefly,while attending Univ. of Arkansas, NOTHING good to say about this last stay! Huge spider greeted us in bathroom as soon as we checked in-dead remnants of other insects on carpet- After 2 nights (we stayed 3 for football wkend) I requested housekeeping to change sheets. I travel for business, am gone half the month, and stay in hotels across U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Don't recall a hotel not changing sheets after 1 nights stay. I requested housekeeping to change sheets and was rudely told their policy was to change sheets only if staying more than 2 nights-so I informed her we stayed the previous 2 and were there one more night, and to please change sheets. Upon arriving back to room, after game, sheets were still dirty so I requested clean sheets. After 2 calls to front desk, I was told I had to wait on the security guard to close the bar up for him to bring sheets. Meanwhile, my boyfriend went to front desk to get the sheets. In passing, the security guard showed w/ sheets and no pillow cases. I assumed he was going to help me strip bed and put clean sheets on. Wrong!!! He tossed the clean sheets on the floor and walked off mad while calling me a derogatory and inappropriate name!!!! Totally unacceptable,unprofessional. and uncalled for behavior! Put a real damper on rest of wkend. Obviously, will never stay there again!

Got a case of bed bug bites over neck/face (yes, medically confirmed). Walls paper-thin and heard party next door until 0100 and pool rats til near midnight both nights. Stayed there because of location and corporate rate. Will find other accommodations upon return.

I chose to stay at this place at the recommendation of a close friend. The staff and the accommodations lived up to my friend's outstanding description. This hotel is filled with charm. From the moment I walked in I was treated like an old friend. The breakfast buffet was the best I have seen at any hotel restaurant. I hope my travels bring me through Fayetteville, AR again so I can stop by the Clarion Inn for a dose of southern hospitality.

I have mixed feelings about this place. A nice place with problems. I booked this hotel for the wireless internet, I was in room 101 without wireless. I called the front desk, my response was "You should have a strong signal." My answer, "I don't have a signal." "I don't know what to tell you." Nice. My wife and son stayed with me and at 9:30 when I came in the air was still at 80 degrees after 4 hours of running. I went to the front and they promptly gave me a different room. At 2:30 am, the new room was at 76 degrees. A very nice atrium with indoor pool, hottub, sauna and workout room. But the water was freezing. A family before us got in and went to a movie 3 minutes later. The breakfast was nice, but I will not be returning. There are nicer, cheaper places within walking distance.

This hotel has poor curb appeal. It is better on the inside. The hallways did not feel air conditioned. The room was clean and OK but nothing to "write home about". The first non-smoking room we got smelled like smoke but the front desk clerk apologized and gave us a different room. It smelled better. Air was cool, beds were fine. The breakfast buffet was large but just fair in taste. The lighting throughout the hotel was dim. I am looking for another room for my next trip to the U of A but am looking at other hotels.
