Worst Hotel Experience Possible.

My stay at Jameson Suites in Arlington Heights was by far my worst hotel experience I have ever encountered. I reserved my 2 king bed room using Expedia. Upon arrival to the hotel, I was told that my room only had one bed in it and hide-a-bed beneath the couch. I was very disappointed to stay in the room, with the price I had paid for two beds, and I was no reimbursed. I talked to the front desk receptionist the first day at the hotel, and she was going to leave a note to be passed on, and I was told I would be recieving a new room the following day. The next day, the receptionist did not leave a note, and they couldn't give me a new room. None of the hotel staff seemed to show any signs of concern for the problem. I slept on the hide-a-bed, which hadn't seemed to be cleaned for months, because there was hair and food inside the couch. Also, the couch was not ready to be slept on, so I had to go to the front desk and get blankets and pillows and make my own bed. The guy at the front desk that night seemed to act like I was a bother for asking for blankets and sheets. Subsequently, he gave me a blanket that reaked of cigarette smoke. Our room was even equipped with all the amenities listed on the internet. We did not have a dvd player in our room, and our tv had few tv channels. I didn't seem like it could be a cable equipped hotel. Being a tourist of the area, it was neccessary that my group use the shuttle van service the hotel operates. These encounters were non the less professional. Our first ride the driver had some kind of rash on his arm, and his first introduction of himself started with his arm. Our next event occured when we were waiting outside of the hotel for our shuttle to take us to the train station, and he was inside talking to some other people, because he wasn't aware that he was taking us. Finally, we called the hotel shuttle to ask for a ride to be picked up, because they recommended that we do this, and they were over 30 minutes late, and we had to make a second call to remind them that we needed to be picked up. Aother troubling problem with our stay, was the local neighborhood children that use the hotel as a hangout. They play baseball in the parking lot at night, and also use the guests computer in the lobby. One night, we wanted to use the hot tub after hours, and the front desk repectionist said we couldn't because the children might get the idea of getting into it. Didn't really make any sense why the paying guests couldn't use the hot tub or the computer. The hotel could have used a pool too. The desk attendents were not familiar with the local area of dining or current events either. This would have been helpful considering we don't live in the area. There were also bugs in the room, and the area conditioning probably needed to be serviced, because it had an unpleasant odor.
I do not recommend staying at this hotel. The Holiday Inn Express across the street would probably give you a better outcome of a good vacation.
