DoubleTree by Hilton Detroit Novi, Novi

After researching many hotels in the area, I chose this hotel and am VERY glad i did. It is very conveniently located to the Rock Financial Showplace/Novi Expo Center, as well as to many other places mentioned in other reviews. I did see the shuttle being operated but did not have use for it on this trip. The location, the hospitality, the atmosphere were all very welcoming. I do not have any real complaints but i will mention a couple of things just as an FYI: 1) all guest service people were wonderful: very accomodating and friendly except 1 who made it sound like she was too busy to be bothered by you. I only encountered her once and wasn't able to get her name. But i stress the 4-5 others i came into contact with were great, even remembering my name several hours after check-in! 2) the hot tub/pool were very nice although a bit small. however, i never had trouble fitting in. there were maybe a maximum of 5 people in the pool area at any one time. 3) there is a bar and restaurant and both are unlike most other hotels in size but they are there. i had breakfast on a Friday morning and while I would have preferred the buffet to be free or at least a little cheaper (is offered for $8.95 or $11.95), my service was again top-notch. 4) i had a great view of the garden (and a lot of rooms do) and was not bothered once by noise from any other patrons... and there were children in the room across from mine and in the one next door! I would definitely stay here again.
