Super 8 Winnipeg East MB, Winnipeg

The rooms were absolutely filthy and stinky. Yellow sticky drips from the walls, pubic hairs in the clean bed, box spring and matress looked like someone was shot dead in the bed. Everything in the room was sticky and fuzzy. bathtub had hair in it. My friends rooms was as bad maybe even worse. Location was good.

Please read carefully the review entitled Great stay, great staff as it states that this Motel is on PORTAGE Avenue, which it IS NOT. It is on Niakwa Ave therefore I think the well intention ladies gave this rating to the wrong Motel. I agree with the other negative reviews that the Motel is very dirty near filthy status and that the staff are very unprofessional, rude and uncaring about the status of the Motel and their place of employment and most unfortunately the well being of you and I their Guests. Given that the Motel is on the Trans Canada Highway and a bit out of the city and residential area may contribute to the poor quality and attitude of the staff being hired as availability may be a factor to get good staff. I also stayed at the Motel when it was part of the Super 8 chain and was very pleased with it at that time, but it is getting progressivly run down and dirty and a place to avoid. I would think that the management and/or ownership of this establishment would endeavour to make drastic improvements to this location should they like to get repeat guest revenues. As for me and my family we will not be staying there ever again. Having been a Motel owner my self I like to support the non big chain franchise operations but I am afraid that this location is no longer an option for me. Bottom line is avoid this Motel at all costs.

I used to stay at this motel when it was a Super 8 and it was enjoyable. Now that it is Motel One it is very dirty the staff is very unprofessional and downright rude. Management is non-exixtent or there would be changes. This Motel is not worth the risk of staying at even if the price looks attractive. You pay the same as you did when it was a Super 8 but it is not well maintained or cleaned. Very poor experience and an embarrasement to bring your family to this Motel.

The service was very good and the room was clean and comfortable. They did have a slight "problem" with coffee and rolls running out,but it was "fixed" in a few minutes. The motel is on Portage which makes it very convenient to get downtown or anywhere. We were two old ladies and felt very safe in that area. The staff went out of their way to help us.
