A Real Alaskan Cabin, Not A Motel
The hotel is a great way to see Alaska without the distractions of the normal tourist market. We stayed here and also at the Denali Backcountry Lodge, owned by the same company, on a four day package called Denail Backcountry Safari. We got our own private cabin, and also were given some of the best meals I have ever eaten, which I was not expecting because of how far into rural Alaska we were.
The staff was great, picked us up from the train and took us to meet the bus on the way back to Anchorage. A wildlife tour was included for our trip into Denail National Park, and we saw a ton of animals including bears, caribou, fox, and a lot of small critters. We didn't see wolves, but hear some lucky people do get to see them!
It was a great escape from our city life and into real Alaska. Also was very well priced compared to neighboring lodges.
