Just minutes away are the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row, as well as the world famous Pebble Beach Golf Links, host to the 2010 U.S. Open. The Bide-A-Wee Inn & Cottages is just a 10 minute drive away from Carmel and all Monterey tourist attractions, and many of the finest restaurants and shops are just a 5 minute drive away. Great for families

We discovered this motel from a website that talks about kid friendly places to stay. We loved it and had a great time! We rented a room with a full kitchen and a separate bedroom. It was perfect for my husband, my toddler son and me. We loved the quiet location so close to the beach and having the full kitchen made it a very affordable mini vacation for us. The rooms are not fancy at all; it is a motel after all. However, it was clean, comfortable and well worth the money. I plan to return there again in May and definitely more times throughout the year.

Great place for the price

We only stayed one night and for $89 plus tax, we can't complain. The room was very clean with two very comfortable queen beds. At first we kind of were shocked by the fireplace but when you move the thermostat on the wall next to it the flames get higher and it really heats up the room nicely. The staff in the office is extremely nice and very helpful. You can hear the ocean from outside your room. It's located a street over from the ocean. The only downside is the walls are a bit thin, we could hear some noise from the room next to us when they were coming/going or whatever it is they were doing around 6 a.m. If you are looking for something real romantic and cozy this probably won't be it, the walls are white and not the coziest but very clean and worth the price.

we will not go back!

When we booked the room, we were told that there was a gas fireplace in the room. After we checked in and paid the 340.00$ for 2 nights, we found that the fireplace was one of those fake electric things, with really loud hot air blower and the fire part had gears that made noise. When we mentioned it, a woman at the front desk said the girl who told us about the fireplace should have known better. No compensation was offered, we would not recommend this place. The confirmation we got stated that there was a" fireplace" in the room. They need to be more specicfic as we would not have rented the room knowing it was an electric fireplace.

Close to all in Pacific Grove and Monterey.

Very nice and quaint motel. Stayed here for 5 days and was close to everything on the Monterey Peninsula. Asilomar State Beach walking distance, Cannery Row/Monterey 10 min. Big Sur 30/40 min.

Best kept secret in the Monterey area!

My wife and I have stayed at the Bide A Wee twice and intend to make another reservation for next April. The Motel/cottages are the nicest you'll find in the area. The Bide-A-Wee is a quaint quiet inn just a block from the Pacific Ocean. The drive into Monterey is simple and quick. Anybody who finds fault with this inn must be out of their mind!

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and just fell in love with the service and scenery. The Bide A Wee has given us great memories of our wonderful honeymoon and we will definately be returning !!

LIkes: location, very quiet,rooms clean, staff friendly, easy access and egress Dislikes: wireless very s-l-o-w, continental breakfast must be taken back to your room. Some pricey, no fireplace

LOVELY THOUGH WINDY

wE ARE WRITING THIS AS WE COMPLETE A SECOND NIGHT IN AN OCEAN VIEW (WE ARE ONE BLOCK UP FROM THE COAST)ROOM. cLEAN, NICE KITCHENETTE AND GREATLITTLE PATION/PAD RIGHT OUTSIDE THE SLIDING DOORS. This is an old time, but renovated motor court and ust what we like, with lawns and flowers. The rate of $119 (off season) gets built up considerable--$14 per night for apet and the everpresent taxes, so our two night stay came out closer to $300.However, we could cook in and the setting is lovely. Easy walk to the state beach with its paths. The only problem with Pacific Grove is that this section of Asilomar Ave, faces west. so the sunsets are geat, but it is WINDY.The day we arrived, the weather was great, but today it is impossible to sit out without a coat. Nonetheless, this is a fine place to stay.Minimal breakfast in the a.m. but we eat lightly anyway, so coffee and fruit and muffins is fine with us.

Terrible beds, bad experience

The beds in this hotel are awful. Their website is deceiving. The rooms are small and dark. There are other, much nicer hotels in this price range in this area. Don't stay here.

The most adorable place nestled in paradise.

My husband and I love this motel!!! We come here at least twice a year. This is always our first choice to stay at. Your close to the beach and you can take a nice morning stroll along Asilomar and watch the deer. You can also bring out the golf clubs and play a round of golf just down the road. There plenty of nice roads to run or bike ride along the coast. It has the most perfect location to downtown Pacific Grove you couldn't ask for more. I highly recommend this cute place.
