Hotel Boheme, San Francisco

The rooms may be a little small. There, I said it. Everything bad I have to say about the place in one sentence. Not bad. This hotel is so incredibly charming, and the staff is amazing (Charles is by far the most notable. My wife and I were accompanied by a six month old child, and Charles did all that was in his power to assist us with any difficulties). They will hand draw you a map to any spot in the city you would like to visit. It is the middle of North Beach, and for those of you who haven't visited, well, you will never eat Italian food anywhere else. It just won't taste that good. I did not have one bad meal. In fact, I ate there every day at least twice for five days, and it was the most incredible food experience of my life. My wife and I both agree that when, not if, we return to this wonderful city that we would like to call home, it will be Hotel Boheme that has earned our business. We would never consider staying at another establishment in San Fran.

My boyfriend and I just got back from San Francisco today and for the first time I felt compelled to write a review about our trip. Hotel Boheme intrigued me. Everything that I saw online made me feel like this was a place for me. Boutique, vintage, slightly offbeat. Now here is my opinion of it all. 1. Perfect location. Seriously! We were walking distance to Chinatown, Union Sq, Fishermans Wharf, not to mention in the middle of North Beach. 2. All the yummy food nearby. We didn't have one bad meal in North Beach. Amazing! We would get up in the a.m. and go across the street to La Boulange Bakery for a cappuccino and pastry, then walk all over the city and come back for dinner at Calzone's, Rose Pistola or Piazza Pelligrini. I'm still craving the bruschetta from Piazza. Oh and O'Reilly's Pub is great to grab a beer after a long day of walking. 3. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT get a room overlooking Columbus Ave if you value your sleep! We did the first night because Gigi convinced us that it was brighter and that the noise shouldn't be a problem midweek. WRONG! I think that every loud muffler in SF drove by that night. Even the fan couldn't mask the yelling guy that was outside Calzone's. Get an inside room, you will be much happier in the morning. Your mate will thank you. 4. No A/C! Think again if you are staying in SF in the hot summer months. Winter is fine because there is a wall heater. 5. However, the blankets leave something to be desired. Really thin Velux blankets are not my idea of comfort, either is the b & w bedspread. Down comforters would make this place so much nicer and romantic. And the pillows are like lumpy and flat cotton mounds. BYOP.
