It has oversized communal wood tables and benches, stained glass windows, and working cupboards stocked, pantry style, with the kitchen's dishes, cups, and utensils. Hudson Bar has a glass floor lit from beneath and a hand-painted ceiling by Francesco Clemente. All of Hudson's 807 rooms feature walls paneled in imported African wood, stainless steel tables, brass-riveted furniture, wireless Internet access, and bedside lamps with allegorical images designed by renowned painter, Francesco Clemente. What a disaster!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/09/09
I stayed here with my partner beginning of december. Housekeeping & bell boys were the only nice people. The people at reception & concierge were such douche bags. I woke up to drilling next door at 7am!! rooms so small. You have to ask twice for something. You can here guests from rooms next to you and i dreded coming back to this hotel evry day!! toliets easily block. Good location but really disgusting service!

Never go here unless you have a wish to be treated poorely by all the very rude staff - including the so called "management"! what a joke. this place is unbelievable, the staff obviously were not trained on customer service.

Smallest Hotel Rooms Ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/08
This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. First off, this hotel has no recognizable entrance. We walked right by it the first time. There is no sign or anything. The service was terrible. Everything comes with a price tag. You want internet? $10. You want a candy bar from in the room? $5. It's pathetic. The rooms were tiny -- Smallest hotel rooms EVER and that is not an exaggeration. It's basically the bed and a foot on either side and that's your room!

I heart Hudson, NY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/04/08
Loved the whole vibe of the place. Our room was great. I was really worried after reading some reviews before I arrived but I shouldn't have placed importance on anything negative. Our experience was an amazing one and I will stay there whenever I am next in NY.

The Worst Hotel we have ever stayed in!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/07
This hotel was simply the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Pitch black reception area. Blaring loud music. Bedroom's smaller than my toilet at home. The bed's were ok but the whole atmosphere made us positively miserable. Totally over priced. Frankly I would rather stay in the Days In than this. If you want to feel depressed and claustrophic all at the same time this is the place for you. My recommendation is do not touch it with a barge pole.

Best things come in small packages
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/07
Like anything expensive if theres no label on it you probably cant afford it, and since there is no label on this hip hotel its a little difficult to know you have arrived. The rooms are small, repeat very small, so if you are a little larger than a hobbit then its probably best to avoid this hotel. You must also be on very friendly terms with your companion, the shower and toilet in some rooms is separated from the bedroom by a floor to ceiling non frosted, again repeat non frosted glass window, on closer inspection your blushes may be spared by a flimsy shower curtain. If you dont know everything about your companion you certainly will by the end of your trip. The best thing about this hotel is that it is only a short walk from Times Square, Bloomies, Central park and therefore is a great base to discover New York. This hotel is probably more suited for the young and trendy not on a budget, and due to the size of the rooms you would nt want to spend and excessive amount of time in them, but then again you are in New York, a city that never sleeps so why would you?.

A Unique and Fun Experience
By food4thought, 07/16/07
To set the record straight, the rooms are small but then again, who goes to a great city like New York to stay in a hotel room? I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, the rooms to be clean, well kept and unique in its decor. The commons areas were spacious and trendy. Dont be afraid to stay in this one.....it's fun and friendly and close to Central Park.

Great Location, Itty Bitty Living Space
By Deannaluva, 09/15/06
This hotel was most definitely trendier than I usually choose. Everyone going in and out of the place was dressed to the 9s and young. Oh, and skinny. But anyway... The hotel is a few blocks from Central Park. It's one of these "boutique" or "metrosexual" hotels where the charm is in the details and certainly not the square footage. I LOVED it. From the "sex kits" sold in the mini bar, to the wall from the bedroom where you can see through to the shower, to the INCREDIBLE VIEW (of the city...noone was in my shower). Oh, and the heavenly shower-y lotions and things that made me smell like sunshine. I didn't eat anything there, but I did have a $10 cocktail. It was divine. Okay, I had two. It's NY! I would NOT recommend this hotel for business travel where spreading out a bunch of paperwork is necessary. But the bed is comfy, it's fun, and who wants to stay in their hotel room in NY anyway??? It's a great location!!!!

I can't hear you
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/06
Other than teeeeeennnnny tiiiinnny rooms (ok the words are wider than the room) if you want any sleep before midnight, don't stay on a room any lower than about 15. The noise from the outside bar will sound as if it is right outside your window - what did you say again?? This should be certainly mentioned by the staff upon check-in but was not. Other than that and the very small rooms an adequate experience but one I do not plan to repeat.
