Aston Kaanapali Shores, Lahaina

We just returned from 6 days at this location. We stayed in a two bedroom suite, garden view....Everything was great from check in to check out. Having the kitchen saved us( family of 5 ) plenty of $$$. Eating out in Maui is so expensive, but with eating two meals a day in your condo really made sense. We got off the plane and headed straight to Costco...We loaded up on our favorite things and hardly had to shop again. I would definatley come back to Aston.

We were in a 1bedroom garden view, remember to request a renovated room, not all rooms have been redone and it does make a difference. The restaurant was decent, kids only eat free from 11 - 4 not all day, that was a surprise, but the pools were great, not too busy, and very local to everything around, recommend you go to the Safeway in Lahaina vs the star mart across the street to save on money with groceries and then the Royal Lahaina Luau was great, pay an extra 15 dollars and get VIP seating right up front and open bar all night. Great Luau if you have kids.

Room was one of the updated ones. Bed was comfortable. Said was a garden view room/ but also had view of beach. Rm #256(nice) Place had 2 pools/jacazzi's. Bleach was nice for kids(2 boys-11yrs & 15yrs) They could boggie board, and snorkle from beach.

We took our family to oahu then maui, we stayed here for 5 days we checked in on thursday were told we had a ocean view it was only partical they said that is there ocean view, they then showed us another 1br suite that was good except the room would not be ready until 2 the next day this was 3 oclock on thur. we agreed our luggage was transfered i went to the room it was still dirty the same as the day before house keeping did not clean it we can show you another room they never apoligzed or tried to compensate us in any way. we had two suites that we were paying for we received vouchers but were told we could only spend them in the beach club restaurant were the food was not worth the price there is no refills on sodas you have to pay full price for another soda. 9 dollars a day for parking we had two cars 2.50 a day for use of the safe. ice maker did not work in our suite they had to come fix that the staff was not very friendly with their guests we would never stay there again. we will not recommend this resort to any of our fiends or family.

The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were VERY comfortable... ResortQuest has a wonderful habit of upgrading at no cost when they have space available. We got upgraded to 2 bdrm/2bath with full kitchen and laundry in room (from 1 bedroom), ocean view. Was a long hike to the room but nice view and no bugs. Staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed the Pacific Whale Foundation Molokini tour - it was fantastic and what a great price when booked through the resort - VERY worthwhile. Swimming with turtles was great. Beach in front not great, rocky - just a little to the south was fantastic. Be prepared to pay $$, very expensive in Maui even when you grocery shop - milk about $6-$7 per gallon and basic bread was nearly $4 per loaf. We took the kids, lower teens, they loved the pools Recommend having a rental car - this is on north end of Kaanapali and not near a lot - visit MaKena beach - it's stunning. About an hour drive from the resort but worth the drive. May was a fantastic time of year to visit - no rain and mid 80's..... Also just before HIGH season when prices go even higher.

We stayed in a 1br suite which had a kitchen. Room was average but clean. The lobby looks much nicer then the rest of the hotel. Our average stay was $279/night from Jan 24 to Feb 3, 2008. I think this is already a lot of money for a room but they charge you more: $9/day for parking, $2.50/day for use of safe, $10/day/person for fitness room. Pools were OK, the one by the beach is heated which is nice. If you have kids, it isn't very kid friendly pool. The restaurant prices were also high but that is Maui for you. If these prices are OK for you then you will enjoy this hotel. It is definitely a 3 star hotel. Hope this helps.

We took our family (20 of us) for a family vacation/wedding vow renewal. I had done a lot of research before choosing this hotel. I was a bit worried as there were a few poor reviews, but overall, the reviews were good. When we got there, what a GREAT place! We had 2BR 2BA condo fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer. Our rooms were beautiful and recently updated. The kitchen had granite counter tops and new appliances. The grounds were incredibly beautiful. It rained while we were there quite a bit, but it was still in the 80's. We stayed from 12/28/07-1/2/08. We got to see a few whales. We ate at the beachclub restaurant on site and the prices were reasonable and the food good. We also shopped at Costco and bought food which cut down on expenses. Lahaina was a lot of fun and had good shopping and things to do. We used Madie Galafant to set up our wedding vows and she did a GREAT job!! She is the wedding coordinator on site. There were a lot of people stayiing there, but we never once felt crowded. I very highly recommend that if you don't do anything else do this...see Warren and Annabelles magic show. You have to be 21+ to get in, but not because of explicit subject matter during the show. He did some amazing tricks that NONE of us could even begin to figure out and he is incredibly funny.(clean humor!) This show sells out quickly, so make sure to get reservations. We did not do the dinner package, but the food looked really good. When we checked out and got home we realized that we had left our video camera in the safe. After several calls to the head of lost and found, the camera was found. We were so happy as our vow renewal was on it. They called us and said they had found it and had put it in the mail! We plan on returning to Maui again and would stay here again. It was absolutely perfect!!

came 4 xmas 06 totally enjoyed stay until last day which was xmas when i was insulted by the person running cabanas by pool. we filled out a complaint but never heard back. so this year we are staying somewhere else. the front desk was very nice room was great,we stayed on 9th floor awesome! ps we were told all complaints were read. thank you

i loved everything about ka'anapali! Especiallly the hotel! My family and I had te most amazing time! the pools where AWESOME! and the rentals for scuba gear and boogie boards where great! my fmaily and i can't wait to got back! i hope that whoever is reading thiswill have great trust into what im am writing here! i can honestly say that if i had to choose to rate this hotel i would give it 5 stars!

I really enjoyes the extra room we had, very spacious, great views, pretty cozy beds, nice kitchennette which was very well stocked and kept. Our kids loved it. It was nice. Felt like a "home".
